      Question too fast!

It seems like things happen way to quick in my dreams (especially as of late). Any suggestions or techniques on how to slow things down? For example I'll be running around and once I turn lucid I try to slow myself down but it's just too hard. I'll become fully aware and even remember things like spinning around helping others stay lucid but that just wakes me up. Maybe I'm trying too hard? Any thoughts?

Hmm...I always notice my dreams getting fast and out of control when I start to get excited or if I try to jump into dream activity to quickly upon becoming lucid. Once you become lucid I would simply stop whatever you are doing, close your dream eyes and take a few deep breathes. Then open your eyes, move your head very slowly and scan your environment. Get a good feel for your surroundings and give your mind enough time to get its bearings. Also, you can perform some stabilization techniques and allow the dream to become nice and stable before whizzing off again. I would suggest a few RCs for stabilization purposes at the very least. If your dream still doesn't seem to slow down any, you can always find the dream control remote and push the "normal" speed button or anything similar. You'd be surprised at how well things like that work. Well, good luck to you!

I have had the same problem too. Try to follow KingYoshi's suggestions, they often seem to work for me. A general tip of advice is to try to calm down as much as possible, and don't rush all the ideas coming to your head. You have plenty of time to do what you want in your dream :]

I disagree with closing your eyes, especially for beginners. A tendency to wake up upon opening your eyes exists. You could try it though. Or take a few deep breaths with your eyes open.

Hmm...never had this happen to me before. Maybe a false awakening, but I don't really see why opening and closing your dream eyes would cause a true awakening. Even so, I would try this as a last resort.

Like Requiem said, you can just perform the deep breathes with your eyes open.

I appreciate the reply from everyone. I really like the dream remote idea, that just might be my key to it.

I always touch the roof of my mouth with my tongue. Works for me. It feels almost like reality that way, it's that good.
