      Disturbing Lucid Nightmare

      I have to say, I am totally confused and still shocked about what happened last night. The nightmare lasted for about 30 seconds and it was part of another dream I was having.

      I was having a wonderful lucid dream as real as life. My friends were there and we were talking in some room in a house. I looked to my left and I saw a mirror that appeared to be on a wardrobe. I looked into the mirror and then it happened.

      I saw a woman, she was moving towards me out of the mirror. I thought this was rather strange but then she turned absolutely EVIL! I have never felt such evil before in my life. It was like all negative intention, all hurt and suffering in the world was coming from this woman. She started transforming into a terrifying demon or monster and was still moving towards me. Everything turned black and red and the world seemed to flicker.

      I'm a 21 year old man, and I'm posting this saying it was the most terrifying experience I've ever had. I could feel my physical body trying to free myself from the woman, grunting and thrashing about.

      I remember half-waking which ended the dream. I went back into the dream and I told my friend about the lady in the mirror. He said "You can see in the mirrors?". I suppose it's like one of those 'lightswitch' things were most people don't turn on lights in their dreams.

      The thing is it was so random. I mean, imagine your talking happily amongst your friends and all the sudden someone comes up to you and starts screaming loudly then runs away.
      ================================================== ======

      The only thing I can think of that would cause this is I had a single beer earlier that day with my friends. I barely ever drink though.

      I wouldn't worry about the beer! Mirrors tend to do weird things generally in dreams. I've been terrified by my own reflection more than once! Try staring it out if it happens again. If you don't show fear, dream monsters usually become more benign.

      I don't even think it's an issue of staring it down or trying to overcome it. I haven't had a nightmare in years and I have dreams about 3 times per week...Some lucid, some not.

      I mean I've been scared before, but this was different. This was like a panther had jumped out of it's hiding place and attacked me. Completely uncalled for and it just reduced me to nothing mentally. I thought I knew what the word evil meant until this happened. It just took everything to a whole new level.

      I'm back home now and I remembered part of the dream before that happened. In the dream I had somehow gone insane and I was hallucinating every 30 seconds or so in the dream. I would have a few moments of clarity and then things would turn freakish and I would experience bad things. Then I looked in the mirror and all went to hell.

      Thankfully dreams tend to fade from your memory after a while. I'm not the type to get caught up and worry about stuff but it was truly fascinating that my own brain conjured up this scenario apparently at random. I don't want to "conquer" my dreams I just thought I'd share it and see if anyone else has experience with this.

      I guarantee someone who's experienced this would instantly relate to the feeling of evil, hate, and malevolence involved.

      That's really scary. I would have just run out of the room as quickly as possible, or looked away and ignored it. Oh well. Keep lucid dreaming. The more experienced you get, the more you can just make things like that go away.

      Maybe she was punishing you for wasting lucid time talking to friends in a boring house
