      Students trying to obtain LD's

Are there any students out there who cant seem to develop a good dream recall because of school? I can rarely recall dreams during school days because of (I think) waking up too early. The best i can do is recall little tiny bits, whenever im on a break though, for a week or more my recall is much better. For example, Christmas break i had two weeks off, about 1 week in I had my first and only lucid dream.

My question is to you: how are you able to cope with early wake up times, or are you not effected?

There's a fantastic solution to waking up too early-

      go to sleep earlier.
      Loaf and Noogah like this.

Just keep it up. Read up on sleep hygiene and learn to have the discipline to get into bed early consistently. Consistence is going to be the key there.

The same thing happens to me man. But in the morning I set my alarm like 5 minutes earlier and just lie there and think " what was i dreaming about" and even though i only get 7 or 6 hours of sleep, i can usually remember at least one. Keep at it. Also i think the stress from school has something to do with it.
Sometimes in the morning all I can think about is that project I have to present.

Recall isn't an issue, but its hard to WBTB because you have this constant nagging feeling of the alarm clock coming closer.

Shift is right on the money with the consistancy thing. As for the alarm clock, I would just sleep earlier so that you have more time to work with WBTB before you have to get ready for school

Try waking up briefly during the night to quickly write down a few notes about your dreams. Depending on the timing of your morning alarm, it could be very difficult to recall a dream in the morning. You want to wake up right after the dream ends, even if that is in the middle of the night.

Tell yourself, before going to sleep, that you will wake up after every dream and write them down. It sounds stupid, but it works for a lot of people.

This is pretty much me. But I really only have to worry about it Friday night, because my only morning class is on Saturday.

There is--though I do not know how there is or why there is--a sense of infinite peace and protection in the glittering hosts of heaven. There it must be, I think, in the vast and eternal laws of matter, and not in the daily cares and sins and troubles of men, that whatever is more than animal within us must find its solace and its hope. I hope, or I could not live.

I go to bed at any time between 9:30PM to 10:30PM on average (depends if there is anything good on TV). I wake up at 7:00AM. I get lucid between the times of 3:AM and 6:00AM. On weekends I can have lucid dreams up to 9:00AM, but those are typically blurry and end quickly.

In response to the nagging of the alarm clock: I only get that nag from 6:00 AM onwards.

It's not much for advice, but I had a whole load of trouble LDing during School (High School).
Wasn't because of the hours, it was because I was constantly in a box of worry that 'I had a project due tomorrow'-'I wasn't studying enough'-'My teacher hates me'-'I forgot something again didn't I....'

Don't worry though, I eventually passed but my LDing is still in the works.
