      Question Afraid to Lucid dream?

I've been reading up on lucid dreaming tutorials on this site and I'm afraid to try it. I'm afraid of confusing real time with dream time. I'm afraid of nightmares happening, I'm afraid of never waking up and other stuff.

Yeah I've been doing reality checks to see if I'm dreaming every day just to make sure I'm not dreaming. But is there really a reason to be afraid of this? I've been having these night terrors lately and I'm afraid to try it. Because of that reason. And there is this demon like clown thats been appearing in my dreams and I'm afraid he'll show up in a lucid since he failed to kill me in my nightmares several of times. This aint funny and I'm not joking. Is there away to resist fear?

Please dont laugh. I'm starting to hate this.

There's no real reason to be afraid of it. You just have to realize it's your dream and that nothing can hurt you. You are in control. Lucid dreaming can help you get over nightmares. Just keep doing different reality checks.

No fear when you realise that the world is just your imagination, the same as a dream.

      Hey, a fellow Ohioan.

Though I have a lot of nightmares, I've never had a lucid one. But for some reason, at night, I'm irrationally afraid of having nightmare lucid dreams. As a result I do most of my lucid dreaming in the early morning, when I DEILD. The dark makes you paranoid.

I recommend learning to force yourself to wake up. If I forcefully open my eyes during a dream, I open my real eyes and wake up. Sometimes when I have nightmares, I remember to do this even when I'm not lucid. It takes most of the fear out of lucid dreaming for me.

I've never heard of anyone who's been physically harmed by lucid dreaming. It's really not that different from regular dreaming. It's totally natural.

Cool thanks everyone. And this person greetings from Ohio too I just have a question. If that ugly Clown bastard does show up. Are there any tips of getting rip of him? Like turning him into a bug or roach and killing it?

I like thrusting the palm out as in a palm strike motion and sending a shockwave into them, they go away pretty fast.

Pfft, why fear the clown guy? He can't harm you in your dreams! Just laugh at him and transform him into something funny, like in Harry Potter.

... Of course you can only do this if you're lucid. In a regular nightmare he has all the power and you're just a helpless little bitch. Heh... not insulting you, I'm saying in regular nightmares we're all helpless bitches. The only way to get any power over DCs is to go lucid.

I take it you haven't read ETWOLD? You really should... it will explain the lucid world in clear and precise terms without any BS, and you'll understand that there's nothing to fear. Never waking up? How is that supposed to happen? This shows that you don't understand what lucidity is... there's no chance of 'never waking up'. In fact, regular dreaming is much more to be feared than LDing.
