Question Substances, good or bad for LD's

So most of the dreams I have are when I go to bed late at night usually around 3-5 am and intoxicated, especially tequila. I find it helps me will things without having to think or worry about it too much. I guess it creates a simpler mind frame, however im worried it might take away from a lot of aspect's of my LD's as well. I couldnt levitate under the influence of tequila for some reason but i could lift a car off of the ground while i was driving it.

What's everyone else's experiences with Intoxication and LD's point at as my first journal is still fairly blank This includes marijuana use, I smoke good weed sparatically throughout every day and before bed that could have an impact too im sure.

As a fellow stoner (Oregon, represent!) I too have often wondered its effects on lucid dreaming.

The things that I have experienced and attributed to being high:

      Positive:
•Really "out there" dreams - stuff that I couldn't even imagine while conscious.
•Decreased habitual inhibitions - flying, or breathing underwater, or turning inside out, or anything else that your conscious mind might otherwise be opposed to seems to be easier.
•Hilarious dreams - this doesn't happen to me much otherwise, but I have had a few dreams that woke me up laughing after going to bed stoned.

      Negative:
•Lack of focus makes it difficult to AP or attain a lucid state.
•Remembering dreams is WAY harder when your short-term memory is impaired.

I find that I have more vivid dreams when I go to sleep drunk, and I also find that it is easier to remember them upon waking - unless I am hungover, then there's little chance I'll remember at all. Red, red wine is where it's at!

The best, as far as I'm concerned, are mushroom dreams! It's nearly impossible to actually fall asleep while frying, but the few times that I have gone to sleep soon after coming down have been full of crazy dreams! I also have a tendency to wake many times during the night after a trip, which makes the dreams easier to remember.

Good thread idea, Hashbaker! I think we should all be more open about what tools we use to experience this life!

What happens next is the product of what is happening now, and how you choose to react.

Ive found weed to greatly hinder my dream recall.
Alcohol dosn't seem to affect my morning dreams, infact it helps my medatation. But getting too drunk makes me sleep too sound to try to get up while my body sleeps.
Every one is affected differently by these things.
Dreaming like life isn't science, it's art and you are your own masterpiece.
