Hey dje123,
I haven't had a lucid dream myself, however I do think I may help. Try thinking of a scene, or something that you want to happen in your dream. You should keep the scene in your head while falling asleep. Then if you remember your dream when you wake up, try to remember if what you wanted to happen, happened. I am not saying a lucid dream, just any ordinary dream. This will help your mind develop a skill of controlling/predicting what you would want to do in a dream. This way, when you have a lucid dream, you will be prepared to do what you wish.
Another way to not lose lucidity is to say in your dream "Clarify", or any other kind of command to make the scene clearer. Also, looking at your hands will keep your lucidity. There are many ways, possibly infinite to keep lucidity. If you browse around the forums, and use the search tool, maybe you will find more.
Hope I helped,
-CV
