I am writing a little also. I am working with my first book wich is in my native language; Norwegian. Some scenes in the book is of nightmares I have had, because I am trying to write a scary book. |

I was wondering how many of you out there use Lucid Dreaming for creative purposes? I've noticed a fair few of you seem to be into drawing in some form, have you ever done artworks that were inspired from your dreams? |

Are you dreaming?
I use it to write music. I just let the music that normally plays in myhead, blast on some dream speakers then I tab myself, and figure out all the parts. Then I wake up and go play. I've created a few good songs from my dreams. But the dream versions are always way more intense with way more layers |

I use things from my dreams, I'll use them in pictures or stories that I make. |

These are the tears that I dream about...
William Burroughs published a dream journal (My Education). It's interesting if you're familiar with his work, it shows where a lot of his routines came from. Makes it scarier, even, to think it came from his subconscious. |

I used the theme sleep in an essay I wrote on school. I included some info on lucid dreaming too ofcourse |

I've been inspired by a few of my dreams and they became the base for some of my stories that I'm writing. There's one I'm working on that will include lucid dreaming. I might mention an "anonymous website" that she goes to to try and figure out what's going on. However, it's going to get her into trouble when she breaks through the SP |

I've created a few pieces based on dreams that I've had, but it's been a while. Part of the reason that I havent dont anything recently is that, with all the time demands of school, I havent been so artistically inclined. Most of the creative designs that I've seen in dreams recently have been architectural ideas, mostly for houses. After I wake up, I think "Hmm, that would be an interesting house..." I think that once I get lucid dreaming down, I'll use it for ideas a lot, since it's so easy to design and change things in that environment. |

Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

It seems that lots of people get a basic idea from their dreams and expand on that, I however want to explore my ideas. It's not that I need ideas - I've had so many I don't know what to do with them. The novel I am writing at the moment is a futurist kinda one, and I am really interested in describing a different world and reality through writing. I haven't LD'd yet, but when I do my aim will be to explore the world of my novel, and thus adding detail and substance to my story. It's kinda an experiment, and I guess when I do I will publish my results on here to tell you guys what it is like. |

I think most semi-creative people find inspiration from their dreams, the subconscious is a remarkable place to explore, I would love to be a painter and access information from my intuition and just start going crazy with a paintbrush and my instinct (but I cant paint very well at the moment) if you are a creative individual writing is a good way to channel your thoughts and desire. I remember once in a dream I asked myself to see a painting, my subconscious showed me but I couldn’t remember it upon waking (lol) the irony! If I did recall the painting imagine the possibilities! Your subconscious is your main inspiration to create, be it a writer, a filmmaker, a freestyle jumper, a musician, whatever you want you already have the information inside your dreams! |

I'm trying a bit of the opposite of what most of you are doing. I started a series of paintings, and I'm hoping to go into them in a lucid dream and "pull out" new characters, compositions, settings, etc. Really, I'm also just curious to interact with characters and elements that I created in waking life that have no voice or personality. |
|
Thats what I'm trying to do as well. |
