      Short answer: Yes.

Slightly longer answer: How would you know if you had a LD if you can't recall it?

Even longer answer (although probably still summarized because I'm brutally tired right now): Recall, for me, is the key to everything. If I can't remember my dreams, I can't pick out dream signs, I can't become in tune with what my head has been playing for me as of late. I use all of my dreams as a step forward in becoming lucid, because I analyze all of my dreams for that one point where something didn't add up, or I just should have recognized something... know what I mean? I start recognizing these things in future dreams, and then, bam, something crosses that threshold and I'm lucid
