I whould recommend to start with WBTB or DEILD/FILD in the beginning. They don´t require that much effort.

When you´re more experienced later on, you could try WILD. I think WILD is the most reliable technique, but difficult to learn. I´ve had little succes with it so far but DEILD has worked great for me. You could say that DEILD/FILD is a shortcut to WILD.

And for WBTB I whould say that staying up for 10 - 20 minutes is enough. Do some simple affirmations that will help you realize that your dreaming and just go back to sleep while thinking of lucid dreaming.
