Sort of "fake" lucid dream I had, very weird.

Last night I had more dreams than normal for one night (about 5 that I can remember). One of my dreams were me and my sister running away from this huge monster (it wasn't a nightmare) on a railroad in the middle of nowhere, it seemed kind of weird, so I told her, "Hey we're in a dream, you can do whatever you want!"

I still didn't have control though, although I knew that I was dreaming. I even stopped to tell her about lucid dreaming, and that you can control the dream now. Then I said, "Look I can summon a car." and a little toy car popped up without me really trying to do it. Also, we could jump extremely high and we basically did this for a while so I could explain to her more about lucid dreaming. Now that I just woke up and think back to it though, I realize I didn't really have that much control over anything, it's like I was dreaming that I was lucid.

Another thing that was quite weird, is that when I woke up from that dream I was lying on the floor of some theater stage with my sister again. I told myself, "Oh hey, another lucid dream!" So I hoped to myself that it was a lucid dream, and did a reality check but it failed. However, somehow I just knew that it was a dream. So I fell back asleep on that stage and had another normal dream, where I didn't talk or think about lucid dreaming at all. That last dream was VERY vivid though, and lasted for what seemed like forever. Has anyone else tried if falling asleep in a dream creates a more vivid dream?

So I woke up from a sort of lucid dream, but I was in another dream where I shortly fell asleep hoping for another lucid. Then that third dream was just a normal one.

So there's my wall of text, sorry. Basic question is: Can we lie to ourselves that we are lucid, when we really don't have much control over a dream? I have been trying to lucid dream for awhile and I'm thinking maybe I pretended to be lucid just to satisfy myself. Who knows, either way at least I recognized I was dreaming.. so I should be closer now.

lucid dream does not mean you have control over your dream. It just means you're aware you're dreaming while you are. So those were both 100% lucid dreams. Now you just need to work on dream control, as do I.
