One reason NOT to lay in your bed thinking about your dreams

haha, I tried this, and when I opened my eyes to see a clock that said "7:53" I just about had a heart attack. I had an 8 O'clock class this morning. Thankfully, I managed to throw on clothes, grab a protein bar, and HAUL on my bike to class just in time .

Very humorous tale, abstraction Next time you should wake up earlier, so you can have a little extra time to remember/catalogue your dreams appropriately.

LOL..I'm glad you made it in time!

If you can.. try programming yourself to wake up before your alarm goes off so you can review your dreams. This sounds hard but if you tell yourself a couple of times to wake up at say 6:45 am your subconscious may just wake up.

A trick I once read about (and it does sound stupid) was to tap your head on your pillow for the hour that you want to wake up.. say 7 taps for 7:00. Laugh if you will but it actually has worked.

Actually.. I think it was just that I didn't get enough sleep and started falling back to sleep . When I wake up in the mornings... but I don't have school yet... I think my brain kinda tells itself "You're tired, so rest, but don't fall to sleep, becuase you have school." So if I remember correctly, basically what happens is a blink my eyes open for a second to check the clock and if time isn't imminent, I roll over lol.... Only when I'm like "HOLY CRUD!" do I realize I need to get up... then I explode out of bed and do the bare necessities. Brushing my teeth? I don't think so mister!

One of the best things about trying to lucid dream is that it actually motivates me to get a good amount of sleep. Throughout highschool I chose to enjoy life and learn/play as much as I could rather than sleep. I stayed up 'till 2AM playing Unreal Tournament on a school night one time just because I felt like it. I enjoyed reading articles and learning rather than sleeping... it was just a nuisance for me.

I am generally happier when I get more sleep though... When I get good sleep, sometimes my memory is partially photographic (my short term memory is good... so whereas my long term memory was shot because of sleep deprivation in highschool... I would always memorize everything 5 minutes before the test... and for a short while I sort of had photographic memory )

I don't have to get up until 9:20AM tomorrow, so I'll surely get plenty of sleep tonight.

I have got waking before my alarm down to a fine art. I wake half hour before, and just drift, with my eyes shut, thinking about what i could have been dreaming about.
sometimes it all comes flooding back, and other times i only get bits and pieces, that i have to sift through, to put in the right order, i have to say to myself, 'was that before or after that event?'
It took me twenty minutes this morning to straighten it out, i find it depends on the vividity of the dream, and mine are usually more so, i once recalled five dreams in one night.
I was exhausted to say the least.
re waking up late, i've had false awakenings at something like four am, convinced it's time for work, when i'm actually on the late shift at 2pm!!
      shows dedication eh?

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.
