Thread: WILD with a twist

OK, I was gonna call it NILD (Narrative Initiated LD) but NILD was already used for Nightmare Initiated LD.

Its basically WILD with a twist.

I lay there and describe to myself what I'm seeing. Like, I will start off relaxing and clearing my mind and all that jazz. Then when I start to see HI I narrate whats going on to myself. Such as.... it's dark, now there is a speck, a monkey is talking to my uncle, my uncle is drinking beer, I see the clouds, the sky is purple, the sky is blue, I hear music.. and so forth.

This has worked for me a few times already and I wanted to see if anybody ells wants to try it out.

O, and please don't crucify me or accuse me of reinventing the wheel if this is already a technique. I did do a search and couldn't find anything. I been waiting to post this as I been trying it out for a few weeks.

Edit: I forgot to mention that doing this makes the imagery become clearer faster for me. anyway, it worked again last night, I had 2 LD's. The first was using this technique and the other was a DILD.

Did anybody try this? Am I the only one it works for?

Can you be more clear? What happens after you narate? How do you get into a lucid dream?

well for me the narrating makes the imagery become vivid/clear. I'm not the best at explaining things but I'll give an example.

2 nights ago:

I was lying in bed doing my narration and as I was describing the sky it suddenly became clear. I found myself standing in the middle of the street looking at the sky and was still narrating.

I said "look at those clouds, that one cloud has a truck stuck in it" and I then became lucid. The transition went so smoothly. It was very cool. It's starting to work for me more and more.

I'll give another example.

I forget the imagery from this one but I do know that it looked like I was watching everything threw a tunnel. As I was narrating I said "now everything is in a tunnel" Then "I'm walking towards the imagery, it's getting more and more vivid". When I got close enough that the imagery started taking over my whole view I thrust my body in. Felt like I was having an OBE (I never had one but I think it might feel like this) It almost felt like I was about to move my real body. It is hard to explain, I hope I"m making sense.

sounds cool, maybe I will try it. I have had like 15 Dilds, but only the last 5 were long and last 2 wer clear and in control- and still those weren't THAT long! I have really been looking for alternative ways to WILD.

I suddenly thought of another good name, Depiction Induced Lucid Dream and then I realised it was DILD oh crap.
