I used to do this a lot. In one instance, I looked at the clock at exactly 4:20 for something like 8 days in a row (I was counting at the time) without consciously intending to. After estimating the frequency at which I glance at the clock, I calculated that the chances of it happening by coincidence would be virtually impossible.
I'm not looking into this and haven't read some of the longer posts above in their entireties, so this is only speculation and maybe I shouldn't be mentioning it, but I know that our minds can be pretty good at subconsciously keeping time. Plenty of people have claimed to be able to wake up every morning at the same time, to the minute (or is it limited to a range of a few minutes?). Perhaps something similar is going on here. You think it's cool that you've been looking at the clock at 2:22, (maybe the first couple times were coincidences), so your subconscious which is good at keeping track of time, pushes you to glance at a clock at that time.
