      Deju Vu?

What is it and if possible, could someone describe it to me what it like a deju vu moment?

It is basically when you are just doing something, hear something, see something etc that you could of sworn has happened before but it actually hasn't. This is usually accompanied by a feeling of familiarity, strangeness or eeriness. Déjà vu actually means 'seen again' in French. Nobody is completely sure why it happens but there are a few theories about it.

One theory of déja vu is that the current experience travels to the memory lobe of the brain, before being received by the sensory lobe. In other words, memorized before sensing.

Another is that one eye may see things a bit faster than the other and the information goes to the brain from the other eye milliseconds afterwards, making it feel as if it is a memory, however, this only seems to be able to explain déjà vu if it was something visual instead of the other senses.

Another is that the events would be stored into long term memory before the conscious part of the brain even receives the information and processes it.

There are more theories but these are some of the examples that appear to be most popular.

When I experience deja vu (recently did), it's more like I feel that I've thought of the exact same situation earlier.
I really do believe that it's because I've had the same situation in a dream but didn't recall it. Anyone else who thinks this too?

I've had "infinite regression" deja vu before. I'll stop and think "Wow, this has happened before, and when it did I had Deja Vu about it and thought 'This has happened before'..."

And so on, and so on...

Frequent deja-vus can also be a sign of schizophrenia.

      my deja vu

For me Deja Vu used to be random and I thought it was weird, but I realized that all my deja vu experiences are dreams that apply to real life. I don't know if anyone else has that, but they kinda suck because if you recall them early enough you can watch things happen that you already know will happen but can't do anything about it. It's like watching a movie you've already seen. That's just how they are for me though I'm not sure if that's how everyone's Deja Vu works. I recommend keeping a very detailed dream journal of all realistic situations, this way you can test the idea that deja vu is dream precognition. Hope that helps.

      agree
All experiences portrayed in this game are for entertainment purposes only.

Interesting post. I've never heard of that theory before. That's pretty cool.

Anyways, déja vu for me is basically when I feel like I've already heard or experienced something before. Sometimes, it gets kind of freaky. For instance, I will be in some situation and I will have an idea of what someone will do or say before they do it. 0_o

Imagine a place where everything that can happen, really does happen
      - where past, present, & future are all blended together
like the world of the unconscious mind, like where we visit in our dreams every single night.

There some cultures/elders that believe that nothing happens unless it is first dreamed.

maybe the sense that one's experience has genuinely happened (deja vu) before is due to our own dreaming of normal everyday life as it plays out.

Catching these rare moments of awareness usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity & may be due to the absence of the illusion of time.
rules for the quantum unconscious, are totally different than the rules of the conscious mind. In the magic theater of our dreams
      revelation of hidden things revealed

Have you never had deja vu? I've been looking for someone else who hasn't had it my entire adult life. I've read that one possible explanation of deja vu is you are experiencing something from a previous life. Which would explain why I've never had it. A famous psychic (who went on to solve 100's of cases for the LAPD) once told my Mother that I was a 'new soul'. So, my first go around, if you believe in reincarnation. So, I have never had a deja vu experience, and have been searching for anyone else who has not had one, to no avail as of yet. BTW, I'm 57 years old.
