      reveriemyst's workbook

Hoping to kick-start my motivation and make lucid dreaming a daily part of my life.

      Reality Checks:

      - looking at my hands
      - pushing fingers/hands through solid objects
      - re-reading the same thing twice

      Dream Signs:

      - family/friends
      - buildings/places I've never been to before
      - bathrooms
      - teeth hurting
      - haunted mansions/castles
      - wild animals

      Short-Term Goals:

      - remember at least one dream per night
      - write down all dreams, no matter how boring, inane, terrifying
      - try to remember that I wake up naturally after every dream
      - reality check at least 10 times a day

      Long-Term Goals:

      - be able to induce vibrations at-will
      - learn to lucid dream consistently
      - stay in a lucid dream for an extended period of time (1 hour+)
      - try to self-determine the differences between lucid dreams/APs/OBEs (if they're not the same)
      - meet with my spirit guide(s)/subconscious and have meaningful conversations with him/her/it/them

      Just for fun:

      - visit the Akashic records
      - visit Asgard
      - ride on a dragon
      - meet my soul mate
      - create my own 'dream world'

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:

I've had a few lucids spreadout through the years, but never with any rhyme or reason that I can tell.
This year has been a huge turning point for me, and I'd like to be able to not only have lucids, but prolong them and stabilize them as well.

My dream recall is fairly decent, but not at the level I'd like it to be just yet.

      Current Technique:

I've been using SSILD and it's been working pretty well for me so far. But have to get used to those FAs..

So yesterday did not fare well with me.

My rundown for the short term goals:

      - remember at least one dream per night
(CHECK - I remembered exactly one dream last night. Would have been more, but..)

      - write down all dreams, no matter how boring, inane, terrifying
(HALF CHECK - I remembered one dream in the middle of the night, but did not write it down, thus forgetting all of it . The other dream I remembered as soon as I woke up and wrote it down.)

      - try to remember that I wake up naturally after every dream
(I did wake up once and instantly remembered, but then fell back asleep. So assuming I had 4 dreams last night, that would make my accomplishment 1/4. XP - or 2/4 since I woke up this morning naturally.)

      - reality check at least 10 times a day
(I failed big time. I did 1/10 yesterday. But hey, it's progress, right? Today will be better.)

Welcome reveriemyst! You're off to a great start with your workbook. I know what you mean about those SSILD false awakenings. Some of them I catch, some of them just embarrass me. Getting into the habit of RCing upon waking is a big help here... too bad I haven't done such a great job of adopting this advice myself!

By the way... did you consider the fact that you might be dreaming right now? (Reality check! )

      Thanks!
And yes, the FAs embarrass me all the time. I think I caught one FA, and that was only because the light switch didn't work. And that was out of about 15 of them.

      6/25/13

      - remembered: 1 dream (non-lucid)
      - written down: 1 dream
      - RCs completed: 6/10
      - naturally woken: 1/5

All those 1's make me sad. XP

      6/26/13

      - remembered: 0 dreams
      - written down: 0 dreams
      - RCs completed: 4/10
      - naturally woken: 1/5

      And that's even worse.

      6/27/13

      - remembered: 2 dreams (non-lucid / 1 FA)
      - written down: 2 dreams
      - RCs completed: 5/10
      - naturally woken: 1/5

I am still not making much progress waking up after every dream, but it's a WIP. I usually wake up before my alarm clock goes off, so I pretty much wake up naturally once a day.

I used to take naps too here and there, but it hasn't fit in lately with my schedule.

      6/28/13

      - remembered: 3 dreams (1 lucid)
      - written down: 3 dreams
      - RCs completed: 4/10 (so far - day's not over yet )
      - naturally woken: 2/5

So far my progress seems to be slowly increasing, very glad about that, although I still have not gotten down those darn FAs. Just have to be more diligent.

Oh! Thank you CanisLucidus! 5/10 RCs completed.

Very nice! Good job holding yourself accountable. And I see that you just sort of slipped this in there...

Congratulations on the lucid! The good news on the false awakenings is that it does seem to get better with practice. If nothing else, consciously building that sense of critical questioning and skepticism when you "wake" seems to be key. Ophelia gets FAs so often that with practice she just learned to nearly always recognize them. Every now and then one will fool her, but generally she nails them all. So I'd say to just stay skeptical and keep practicing!

Thanks! Lately the last couple of lucids I've had were DILDs, which is interesting because I've never really had any luck with spontaneous lucids before. But I'm not complaining. I think being motivated to have lucids has helped me tremendously, and also really keeping track of RCs and dream journaling.

The FAs I do still need to work on however. They're so realistic! It's such a mind trip sometimes.

I had the most RCs that day. 7/10.

      I've been averaging 5-6/10 RCs,
and since June 29th, have had:

15 dreams / 13 written down (been trying to write them all down..)
      5 FAs
      2 lucids

I keep kicking myself on those FAs, they're so short and I keep thinking if I were to recognize them that could have been 5 lucids.
Just have to be more diligent in catching them.

Excellent, sounds like you've had a great week! I know what you mean about kicking yourself on the FAs because I was doing a lot of that when I did a few weeks of SSILD recently. I think what really throws me off is that they are so realistic and often contain very little "weird" or dream-like content. Often there will be some but a lot of it seemed to be basically rehearsing my morning routine. If I was lucky I'd end up in a new location, which would usually get me lucid.

      Keep up the good work!
