      Hello everyone!

I'm new around here so I figured I'd post and say HI to everyone! I can't believe I didn't find these forums years ago.. I must not have been looking very hard! lol!

I'm not exactly a newbie to lucid dreaming, though I currently am not able to do it reliably anymore, so in a sense I'm a "newbie" again. I learned how to control dreams when I was around 7 or 8 and have always had some degree of control ever since. I've been remembering my dreams since probably around age 5 or so, hard to say. I just always did and I didn't understand when others said they didn't remember their dreams. When my mom told me she didn't I figured maybe it was an issue with adults (since no adults seemed to remember dreams) and I vowed to never lose it. So far I'm winning that battle, even though in recent years my recall and control has slipped (due to lack of sleep.. bad me).

I regard lucid dreaming as degrees of awareness. In about 90% of my dreams I'm aware that I'm dreaming, but I don't necessarily have control beyond that realization. In about 80% of my dreams I am aware that I'm dreaming and can control things to a point, but not fully. I have had a few choice lucid dreams where I was 100% aware. These 100% aware lucid dreams are unlike most lucid dreams that I've had. In them, the world is exactly as it is now (except for the basic natural laws). I mean, it is literally like waking up when I enter that state. Everything is just as it is in this world, except the physical laws are still different. It's those kind of lucid dreams that I find the rarest. Typically the shock of "waking up" in that world is enough to make me wake up for real, but I learned to hold on long enough to experience some of that world before leaving.

I'm very interested in experimenting in dreams and in creation. I'm very curious what abilities others have in the dream world. I'm sure what I've learned to do aren't the only types of things that can be done.. There's no real limit in the dream world, but I'm curious what "standards" there are (what most of the dreaming community can manage to learn to do) and what are more "rare" abilities (what only experienced dreamers can figure out).

My dream abilities include: flying, warping (teleportation), scene creation, world creation, item creation/change, disguise (changing your appearance), telekinesis, energy defense, energy attack.. probably some other things I can't remember right now. Besides flying one thing I tend to do the most is scene changing. I often choose to allow the dreams to go as they will, but if I'm not enjoying it or don't like what I've gotten into, I will either "warp" out of it or change elements of it to suit me. I can usually do this even with my lowest level of lucidity.

Well, that's a bit about me! I can't wait to read more here and get to know others who are as interested in this stuff as I am!

Welcome! It sounds like you are a natural and already well beyond the beginning stages of lucid dreaming!

Its great to hear that you have kept to your promise of never losing your dreaming capabilities! Thats the type of commitment that allows for such amazing LD capabilities. Those 100% vivid lucid dreams are capable of pulling off all the time with the right practice and commitment.

For lucid dreaming abilities, the most common abilities I would say is flying and being able to manipulate the subconscious to find certain items / people. The fact that you can manipulate the world and spawn objects, you are far beyond whats considered basic. I myself have trouble flying, though I honestly rarely try in my lucid dreams. But I've managed to pull off mind control and trick my subconscious into spawning things (out of sight however).

Its great to have you here! I look forward to reading more about your experiences and techniques!
