      Begining Serious LD cultivation

I have been meditating for about 5 years on and off but since this past December it has been really gung ho. Especially during periods of intense meditation (2 ten day retreats) I have many lucid dreams. After watching Inception the other night I decided it was time to start cultivating these dreams... I have read a bit around the site, I will start a Dream Journal and reality check. The Tibetan Buddhist had an elaborate system for cultivating the dream state so I am going to begin to look into that... a lot of my interest in lucid dreaming has to do with extending my meditation practice.... I also just want the ability to manipulate the environment in whatever way I wish to... Last night I meditated for 40 minutes then went to sleep. I became lucid 3 times. Although I can't remember any more details... I didn't get excited and wake up... I just can't recall what I did. I remember a false awakening the 2nd time. I think one of the times I started practicing meditation in the dream. I have had much more vivid LD experiences before but it was my first night intentionally cultivating it... anyway look forward to the commnity... being around people more advanced than myself has done wonders for my meditation I have no doubt it will do the same for playing around with dreams...

So some vivid dreams last night but alas no lucidity. So I guess the opposite of the night before. I recall Being on a scuba trip, I was having trouble with the equipment. I was having to hold my breath for most of the time instead of breath through a regulator. I felt very isolated from the people on the trip. I remember taking a shower after the trip and seeing all my clothes hanging up and wondering why only my clothes were in the bathroom. I remember seeing some of the other people on the trip had bongs out. I couldn't figure out why because I believe we were in south east asia where that stuff is dangerous.
I remember getting back from the trip (maybe in a different dream) and I was in a small town in Colorado. I remember riding in a car with a few people who had been on the trip and my mom. I remember dropping the F bomb for some reason and the situation getting awkward.

Well I wish I had gone lucid but at least I had some dream recall

Welcome to DV, Clayton. Glad to hear you've already had some success in becoming lucid! It seems like Inception is inspiring quite a few people to get more serious about dreaming, something of which I approve.

If there's any ways we can help, let us know. Best of luck!
