Hi, I'm (somewhat) new here, and have actually had a few brief lucid dreams in the past.

Hi, I'm Alex. I've visited the sight in the past, and tried out a lot of the tutorials, and when I first started didn't have any success. I would spend hours trying to lay completely still (a WILD technique I heard about), I did this at least 5 nights before giving up (to be fair I wasn't using the WBTB technique with this). So after all the failures I stopped trying and went on with my life.

A week later I had a false awakening, got out of bed and tried to flip a light switch, which didn't work, and I was trying to figure out what happened when I remembered what others had said about light switches in dreams, and became lucid. I didn't do much, just looked out the window (which was pretty cool) and then went downstairs to explore, and tried to have sex- in the middle of which I woke.

I had another dream, again I was in my room, only this time I couldn't get out of the house when I tried, and no one in the house could help me. In my third dream (from a couple nights ago) I tried to fly, and use other powers, which I had difficulty with. In both I can't remember how I became lucid.

I remember that the dreams were very vivid, but after a few minutes I wouldn't be able to remember it in such great quality. Each time, I would realize when I started to wake up, and try to fight it, but would always end up awake (and very frustrated).

I should mention that I tend to stay up all night, resulting in me sleeping through the day, and that each time I had a dream I had been woken up earlier by someone in the house, and gone back to bed. I know this is something like the WBTB technique, but that those are usually helpful for WILDs, and my lucids had all been DILDs.

So, anyway, I thought I'd come back to the forums and give it another go, try some more techniques, and figure out how to make the dreams last longer.

      Hello, wellcome.

Why you don't read about dream control and dream stabilization ? Check the tutorials section. Rubbing your hands and spining should stabilize your dream and you'll not wake up fast.

Hey Alex, welcome back to the forum.

For longer dreams, try to remain calm and not get too excited - kinda hard when you first start out.

I hope you do keep trying it's so worth it to learn dreaming & to get to being lucid with-in them.
