New here, and kind of lost

So, this will be my first post here so I'll try to make it as comprehensive as I can.

I've allways been intersted in dreams, but never thought that you could be in control of your dreams that much once mastered. I've had my fair share of lucid dreams, when younger and even growing up, even found a way to induce them myself (to a lesser extent), but found that to unreliable, so I kinda stopped trying after a certain age, and now I feel I'm ready to dive in again.

I've red all the content on the main site carefully a couple of times, and so far the last couple of night I've had a couple of dream recalls. Which I found quite surprising because I haven't dreamt in a long time (maybe the weed?). And mostly when I go to bed i'm just to exhausted.

But I've think I have found a way for myself to be able to recall a dream, or just mere fragments everytime I sleep (day or night), . Everytime so far I was able to identify a dream sign that made me wake up. So far so good then?

I have quite some experience in buddhist meditation, so I was able to meditate myself into sleep, while constantly reminding my subconsciousness to wake up from my dream when seeing a dream sign, and being able to recall it.

So, my question is, am I able to start trying inducing lucid dreams? or should I keep it to recalling and writing down my dreams? And I haven't found that much on inducing lucid dreams purely through meditation. So any help on that would be great.

Also does smoking pot often, reduce the chance to dream?

Sorry for wall of text and spelling fuck ups, native language isnt english.

      thnx in advance

Try doing Reality Checks randomly during the day, whenever you see your dream sign, since it seems you already know some of yours. The pot could be affecting your dreaming. I can't really say, because it seems to vary from person to person. I can't really speak for whether or not you should try to induce dreams, because I myself just started out less than 2 weeks ago. Anyways, goodluck.

Okay, first things first. Smoking pot doesn't help your chances, it mucks up your dream recall so even if you do have one, you probably won't remember it. It's also bad for your health...

Instead of using your dream signs to help you wake up, you want to use them to help you do reality checks. If a RC fails, you'll know you're dreaming . When you're awake, whenever you see one of your dream signs you should do RCs. This will carry into your dream state. It's really good that you've found your dream signs!

The meditation is great. This should help you during WILDing, so you can "fall asleep" while awake (that sounds strange haha). Alot of people can't WILD well because they get impatient and can't lie still. As long as you keep your mind on something your meditation should really help you

If you can recall about 2 dreams per night then yes, you're ready to start trying to induce dreams. You should try different methods, but make sure you give each enough time to work alot of it is trial and error, you need to find what works for you.

By the way, your spelling is alot better than many people I know. And english is their first language!

Thanks for the quick responses telittleone and raspberry.

Based on your advices I decided to hang out in the dreamcalling fase for a bit more, so that it becomes more like second nature and I'll start incorporating RC's during "real" life, and see where that gets me
I've been reading about WILDing and it seems like my kind of thing, since I can fall asleep pretty much everywhere/anytime, and I have no problem clearing my head from the burdons of daily life.

And probably for the best, I'm going to try and put a hold to my late night spliffs so I don't loose grip on reality even before I fall asleep :p

      Thanks again guys/girls
