I'll start out by saying that I just got really interested in lucid dreaming about a week ago, but before I even knew about lucid dreaming I've had lucid dreams when I was younger and it seemed to be pretty easy to have lucid dreams when I was younger but now that I'm older I have a big problem with lucid dreaming. I can't remember ANY of my dreams! At all! This is VERY frustrating for me because when I was little I used to remember about 1 dream per night and I would have about 1 lucid a week if I got my mind-set right before I dozed off. Now I'm older and for some reason I can't remember a single damn dream I have. (The last dream I recalled was more than a year ago) For the past week I've kept a DJ next to my bed, which is still empty of course because I can't remember anything... I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong here. Every night I chant to myself as I'm falling asleep that I'm going to have a dream and I'm going to remember it when I wake up so I can write it down, I POUND this into my head for about 20-30 minutes, so much in-fact that I begin repeating it over and over in my head without even realizing it until I fall asleep. I also set an alarm every night to wake me up 4 1/2 hours after I fall asleep so I can attempt a WBTB because I heard those are typically more successful but I'm still not having any luck. I should also point out that I am a pot smoker, as I've heard this can affect dream recall, I typically only smoke when I go to bed because it helps me sleep, otherwise I just lay there for hours, I'm wondering if pot could be the reason I'm not remembering my dreams? This is extremely frustrating and any help would be greatly appreciated. |
