hi people new dreamer reporting...Calea Zacatechichi dream herb

... Well as I say I'm a dreamer that has very vivid dreams with sporadic total recall. I have been thinking of joining a dream forum for a while to see what others experience.

I grew up in the hippy era and took a lot of drugs, I took LSD when I was 21 and it changed me forever.

Since then I have taken various drugs but avoided the addictive ones and my consciousness has been well and truly expanded.

I have had 6 lucid dreams that I can remember but the last 2 occurred in the last week. I cannot control them for long but one thing that does happen in all of them is my wanting to and the ability to fly.

Has anyone used Calea Zacatechichi dream herb?

I have some growing in my garden and have just eaten a handfull, nearly puked but didn't.

First of all, drugs such as LSD, Mushrooms, weed and other like substances can severely reduce ones ability to lucid dream; while they do "expand" the mind, they also distort the person's ability to rationally think and overall they cloud ones mind quite thoroughly. So if your serious about lucid dreaming, you're going to need to put down the drugs to lucid dream efficiently. Think about it, if in your dreaming mind you're already very unaware of your environment (like when you see a pink elephant a think it's normal), then by adding drugs it can only make this worse... but anyways I digress. You're not supposed to eat Calea, you're supposed to either drink it in a tea or smoke it in a joint. Traditionally, the native Indians of Mexico (where the plant originates) drank a tea of Calea and smoked a joint of it as well right before they went to bed. I would suggest doing that method, but again Calea is an herb whose primary purpose is to enhance dreams; weed, LSD, mushrooms etc. have a primary purpose that is unrelated to dreaming. That's why I would suggest experimenting a little bit with Calea, to see if it works with your body; but i would not suggest the use of any plant or substance whose primary purpose is not dreaming or the enhancement thereof.

Basically: Drink some Calea tea and smoke a Calea joint before bed (Calea tastes HORRIBLE so mix in some honey with the tea and some tobacco or something with the joint)
P.S. I reiterate my point from before, if you're serious about lucid dreaming you need to stop all the other drugs (yes alcohol is included as a drug) whose primary purpose isn't to enhance your dreaming.

      I hope this helped

      I second this comment.

If you're going to use the Calea, make a tea (they say it's a bitter taste, almost intolerable), or smoke it. There are pills for sale, at the right amount you'll need.
Don't expect lucids by this herb - it's for vivid, meaningfull and other types of dreams.

Oh yeah, that's another thing I forgot to mention; that Calea doesn't produce a 100% chance of lucidity, it just increases the vividness of your dreams. Which of course HELPS with lucidity, but again it does not guarantee it.

Well as a result of taking calea last night I just had what I call a normal dream. I was in a hotel room it was clean but sparse and had a good panoramic view of the sea where I live. My mum who is severely disabled walked unaided into the room to enjoy the view.

I will try drying calea next time and make a tea and joint.

That's the only way you should take Calea if you do decide to take it, that's the way the native shamans took it; and if you're going to experiment with that sort of thing, it's best to follow those who've been doing Calea for thousands of years.

Everyone's so harsh on the taste of Calea! It's intensely bitter, but I find it to be a clean bitterness, somewhat medicinal. Brewed as a tea, Calea actually reminds me a lot of the goldenseal tea my mother used to make me drink as a child. Maybe that's why I don't mind it. (Too bad it has yet to do anything for my dreaming.)

Personally I think the taste of Valerian tea is infinitely worse. Valerian just makes me think of dirty diapers. I've sworn never to drink it again; I'll take it in pill form if need be.
