      Hello!

      hey everyone. I'm Jarradical, from Australia. Ive just started trying to lucid dream.

      I want to start dreaming because of two reasons- Inception (Im sure a lot of other people were influenced by this aswell!) and to benefit as a musician. A good friend of mine, who is something of a prodigy, lucid dreams every night, and often uses this time to practise his instrument.

      On my first night i attempted what i think is the WILD technique. colours began flashing before my eyes, and i felt i was entering another state, and became quite anxious, and couldnt stop myself from pulling back to reality.

      On my second night, i told myself i would wake up after every dream, and kept pen and paper next to my bed. I imagined myself spinning down into a room at a school.
      I was not able to achieve lucidity, but i dreamed about being at school, and woke up after one of my dreams. I wrote down everything i could remember about this dream, and 1 other dream from the night i could remember.

      Tonight is my 3rd night. I plan on doing the same as last night. Does anyone have any suggestions?

      Thanks!

      first, let me be the one to say: to DV!!

      my advise to you is to start with a dream journal, which it sounds like you already have. you want to get good enough at recall to where you can remember at least 2 to 3 dreams a night, every night. WILD is also a pretty difficult technique to master right off of the bat; if i were you, i would start with DILD, dream induced lucid dream. more information on every technique is located in the Tutorials section on the main forum page, where you can read about the processes, and see which one will be easiest for you.

      on a side note, don't base your views of lucid dreaming off of Inception. while it was a good movie, it was in no way an accurate presentation of LDing. you have no limits, no rules in lucids. it is quite amazing when you have your first, trust me. Good luck, and happy dreaming!

      The evening hangs beneath the moon, a silver thread on darkened dune.
      With closing eyes and resting head; I know that sleep is coming soon.

      Upon my pillow, safe in bed,
      A thousand pictures fill my head,

      I cannot sleep , my mids aflight;
      and yet my limbs seems made of lead.

      I started attempting WILD 2 nights ago and that's exactly how it went for me. Hope you can crack it soon! Welcome to DV
