      new to the forum

greeting, hi, hello, and what up.

Not sure why I never joined a forum about this yet. I have had lucid dreams since my earliest memories, some more lucid than others and sometimes I have spells when no dreaming occurs, or at least I am not aware of it. I also have the most bizarre dreams from everyone I have spoken to on the subject.

When I was a little kid, maybe 4-6, I used to have very vivid lucid dreams where I literally was master of my universe when asleep. I would create and do anything I imagined.

When I was young, around 12, I used to be able to make myself fall directly into lucid dreams almost every night. This only lasted several months though. Still wish I had this ability.

I also have severe nightmares and night terrors. These are things that are so terrifying that I've had points in my life where I only slept minutes per day because I did not want them to happen. At one point several years ago I used to literally jump out of my sleep with a scream, sometimes completely jumping out of the bed and onto the floor. Not fun.

I also am the only person I have ever met that feels pain in dreams. I literally feel every emotion or sensation that I feel in real life, as vividly or even more intensely that in waking reality. This is especially not fun in violent dreams. I have been stabbed, shot, crushed, squeezed, beaten with chains, slashed, burned, bitten, attacked underwater by sharks, electrocuted, attacked by dogs, lions, scorpions and snakes, and a laundry list of other atrocities I don't feel like going into in an intro.

I also have had waking visions prior to or just after falling asleep. 2 years ago for a short spell in the summer, the visions were coming to pass. Example: I would see the face of a stranger, and then maybe see them in a brief situation, and the following day or several days later I would see this person on the street. Amazing and unnerving all at the same time.

I also have had prophetic dreams. I dreamed someone I knew died, and how and where they died, on the actual night they died. I woke up to a relative handing me the phone and I was told this person died exactly how I dreamed it.

I also have had this strange thing happen when falling asleep that I hope someone here can attest to which I will post after this.

At any rate, now that I've written a chapter, I hope I can find some common ground here because most people think I'm friggin' crazy or lying and have no idea what I experience when I'm asleep. I'm amazed and terrified at this "second life" I have when my eyes close and hope to meet others on here with similar experiences.

      Thanks

      LS

Nightmares you can handle with lucid dream practice, you'll realize you are dreaming and can escape them.

The thing when you fall asleep you may be speaking, may be sleep paralysis.

Be welcome, your experiences are really interesting, try making a visit to the "Beyond Dreaming" section.

      thanks for the welcome.

there was one "old" technique I sometimes use that doesn't fall under the realms of controlling your nightmares or the mainstream. It's an occult thing using some old scripture where you change certain words and recite it before going to sleep. It doesn't stop the nightmares or make you aware all the time, but you always emerge victorious in the dream.

Every time I go through a bad spell of nightmares I do this as a last resort and it works 100% of the time. Wether it's the words or just my brain being convinced it will work is not clear. But it does work regardless.

Being attacked by demons is never fun, but when slaughtering legions of them with a rusty piece of metal or my bare hands, it does remove much of the fear and I wake with a small sense of triumph rather than just being totally shaken up and tormented.

I will check out the other forum, thanks for suggesting. I didn't want to just barge in.

Welcome, LS!! You've got some fascinating experiences

It seems a lot of people here do feel pain in their dreams. From my findings, I seem to be one of the rare few who don't I find it strange, but I just attribute it to the fact that I don't really have a body when I dream. That's one of my key indicators, I don't feel gravity, or a bouncy step or anything... I just sort of float around, weightless

Hi Serenity. I see my dreams from various viewpoints that often shift while in the same dream. Sometimes I am 1st person, experiencing and acting out some scene. Other times it's like you mentioned, more like a floating consciousness, and other times it's more voyeuristic where I'm standing there but watching, and always from different viewpoints. I just posted something about pain because I literally have not met anyone who feels pain or other senses/emotions in dreams.

I also have so many bizarre dreams that I'm not sure what to post, or what is appropriate. Some are rated R through X, and not just for nudity, but from violence, murder and similar terrible things.

      Thanks ! Much appreciated.
      I'm using a Sigma 105mm macro f2.8 and a Nikon D40.

Most people may not recall the dreams at all, with this, they don't recall emotions, pain, etc.
If I have a very emotional dream, I feel it intense as, or more, than in waking life. I've felt pain in dreams too - some even carry to waking life and last some time (like half an our).

pretty nice shots for a D40. Would love to see original raw files. I'm a pro artist, own a company. PM if you like. I need photographers occasionally.

I have had some dreams where the pain persisted, but not for very long. Sometimes after certain dreams I have a 20-30 minute period of extreme disorientation where my motor functions are shot to hell and focussing is difficult.

I also had one dream I was shot in the abdomen at close range on my right side. A few weeks later a had a painful kidney stone in the same location.
