      Strange experiance, LD?

      Hi all,

Had an experiance last night and i'm not sure what to make of it, as I am still new to this - any feedback would be appreciated.

I set my alarm to wake hopefully from REM (roughly 6 hours), was expecting to wake from a dream so I could note it down etc.
Problem was, the alarm went off but I couldn't remember any dream, bit dissapointed, I thought ' while Im awake I could try the WILD technique, as it had been six hours.

Everything started off well, started to see random flashing, tried not to concentrate too hard, then something happened, started getting a tingling sensation all over my legs and it felt like I slipped into a LD. For the first time I was acutally aware of what was happening in this dream - didnt seem to be anything exciting, I was in bed and it felt like I had levitated a couple of inches (sounds crazy). It was at this point I realised I was aware and I thought to myself 'Excellent time to get out and explore, but try as I might I couldn't get out of bed, very annoying, felt like I was paralised, I tried once more really hard, but unfortuantly woke up.

Like I said earlier, still new at this, and since I haven't been doing it long, thought it may have been something other than LD.

Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this?

      Many thanks
      Steve

That would be your astral body (dream form) leaving your physical body. COOOOOOOLL
I'm going to try WILD tonight!

So it was a LD then? Why couldn't I get up and move around?

You got just as far as I ever have when trying to WILD. Not sure what it is that keeps you from actually getting up -- I tried sitting up and felt like something was pushing me back down. But you are VERY close -- don't give up!

The next time you find it hard to sit up try rolling either to your right or your left and see if that gets you free.

Actually I've done this once -- except I was already asleep, and dreaming that I was doing WILD.

If I roll to the left I'll land on my wife, so I guess I'll roll right and fall out of bed instead.

I hope your bed's not too high cuz it could happen... I physically rolled into the bedroom wall once!

haha very interesting, i'll try rolling, thinking about it now, it was just my upper body I couldn't move, I managed to get my legs up in the air but nothing else, will have to try it again, seem to have more luck trying WILD then any other technique!

      Many thanks

You might also want to try and just wait a little longer and observe the happenings, or try to imagine yourself a nice cozy dream scene.
      Pink elephants are perfectly normal.
