What the hell happened here? (I was trying to WILD)

Last night, I set my alarm for 5:00 (about 6 hours after I thought I would fall to asleep) to attempt my first WBTB WILD, I stayed up for fifteen minutes at first, checked the time, it was 5:12.

So, I relaxed, and let my thoughts drift off while keeping myself counting in the back of my head, and sure enough before I knew it I had a FA, pinched my nose, was able to breathe through it and started going crazy.

However (I have crappy dream recall and am trying to improve it so bear with me), when I woke up in that false awakening or whatever it was, I had something on my face (that was obscuring my vision) but didn't really think irregular of it and just ripped it off. Furthermore, I did other things that I wouldn't do in a lucid dream, like argue with my Mom, go on Dreamviews to see what I should do (which kinda worked), and somehow I also ended up at my school partway through?

I remember frequently doing Reality checks throughout the whole thing and attempting, and failing to summon things before I woke up at 5:31, 20 minutes after I had begun my WILD attempt.

What the hell happened there, did I actually become lucid, but I just have crappy enough recall not to be able to fully recall a WILD, or was that just a normal dream where I actually fell asleep earlier and when I attempted to WILD inside the dream it just switched scenes after a while (pardon my crappy recall)?

People generally say their first experiences seemed magical, while this, though I woke up extremely excited, seemed sort of like a normal dream.

Help for an unusual situation anyone?

well i cant help you, but damn, sounds like you had an interesting night i may have to apply some of those techniques myself and try it. At least it seemed to have some kind of affect for you and you actually preformed a reality check!
Some say... Dreams let us unlock the brain's awesome potential.

You could have had a normal dream of becoming lucid. Basically in your dream you become lucid and have a lucid adventure, but you're actually not lucid.

Were you in control of all your actions? Did the dream guide you or did you guide the dream?

When you woke from the dream, did you feel like you came out of the dream feeling like the same person, or did it feel more like a movie.

Ahh... That's probably it. It's just that I had never lucidly dreamt before and couldn't tell the difference.

You see, Squeenix, our dreams are mainly our expectations If you worry too much about having an LD or if you spend much time thinking of it, on the forums etc. you will end up dreaming about this. I had the same experience 2 times the very first days I started reading about lucid dreaming (i.e dreaming about trying to be lucid etc.) Quite the same as Rathez said.
