hey yas, im new and learning

hey ya all. Well ive been visiting this site for a few months now but havent posted anything yet so i thought i may as well get over the activation energy and begin.
Im 22 and learnt about lucid dreaming from a text file my flat mate sent me. It sounded interesting enough so i do wat anyone who requires more info does and googled, hence i found this site. Im farely new to forums also and this is the first one i belong to, but thats another story.

Anywho. Ive never lucid dreamt but am very willing to learn. I am one of those types who is able to remember dreams well enough however since putting in the effort and recording them in a journal, my abilty to remember every detail has exculated. In fact i find it quite tiresome to write down all the info i remember hence i tend to just store it in my head. My dreams are interesting enough that i seem to be able to store quite a few in there, and mainly just focus on the details that are most obviously signs that i am dreaming. The most freaky thing that happened to me was by following some instructions i found on here, and telling myself before i sleep that i will wake after my first dream cycle and remember my dream, it actually happened. I was amazed, my subconcious listened to me. So from that point on i have been motivated to train and learn. So far i have about 30 dreams in my journal. I have made a single reality check (check my watch - i was surprised to find i had a watch on even though i dont wear one in real life ) however this wasnt evidence enough convince myself i was dreaming . So im at the point where i need to be able to make reality checks. I wake from my dreams (god damn my imagination is creative) and kick myself everytime for not noticing how extravagent the dream is, and how obvious it is a dream.

so yeah, thats me. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how i will be able to enoucourage reality checks in my dreams. I guess the every day training in real world will probably help, am i correct?

Thanks for reading, catch yas around

      Howdy, & Welcome.

Just keep performing excessive (!!!!!!) amounts of reality checks in waking life, that should be enough to encourage them in your dreams. Well, or so the theory goes... personally, I wouldn't know. I'm still learning.

      Good luck to you!

      Good reality checks to do

      1. Look to see if you have never been to this place you are currently in before
      2. Check if a familiar area is extremely different. So much infact that it is impossible to believe that much has changed.
      3. See if you can walk through walls
      4. Listen if people that are talking to you are talking about lucid dreaming.

Hope you have a nice stay,

      Yume

I've never heard of squeezing your eyes as a reality check. What should happen if you are dreaming and you squeeze your eyes?

Welcome to Dream views! If you want to know when you are dreaming, ask yourself everyday, "Am I dreaming?" anytime an event that doesn't usually happen happens. Also, you can try this method, b/c this is a guarenteed way. Make yourself ultra-hyper b4 you go to bed (watch a comedy or eat a candy bar), lay perfectly still in bed, & after a while (90 mins max), you will start to feel static running through your legs, & won't be able to move, & you might see mirages. This is when you repeat to yourself in your mind "I am dreaming!" Works for me all the time!
PS: please work on your grammer a little
