      Hey There Sleepy (Lucid) Dreamer(s)

      Mornin' Dreamers,
Names Orson, 18, Irish. Same old story as everyone else, I heard about it, wanted to try it, registered on this forum!
I recorded a dream in my dream journal last night for the first time. I've had a few lucid dreams in the past, but I've always gotten too excited and woken up!
Now Im here to try it properly. I've got a few questions if thats cool:
      1. Whats the best method when I goto bed at night?
      2. Whats the best way to fall alseep during the day to have a lucid dream, I heard something about WILD?
      3. Im really worried about sleep paralysis, should I be scared, whats the worst that can happen?
      4. I downloaded this track, luciddreamremix.mp3 , is it any good? Is that a good option?

      Thanks you guys,
look forward to contributing to the community!
      All the best
      Orson

      Hello Orson,
      Welcome to Dream Views.
Prior to answer your questions, let me remind you of the Dream Journal, if you haven't already. Now back to the questions.
      1. Start with MILD/DILD induction techniques. It is easy.
      2. Use an alarm clock with snooze around 5-10 minutes.
      3. Nothing to worry about SP. The worst thing can happen is a great lucid dream!
      4. It contains some induction statements covered with natural sounds. It may work for you.
Experienced experts are around to answer more.. Good Luck!!!

Don't over-romanticize things. The best thing that can happen is a great lucid dream. Everything else is worse. The worst that could happen are creepy hallucinations, and pressure on your chest/stomach. It's important to realize that the hallucinations you see or hear are basically products of a dream state. Try to remember this and stay calm in the case of hallucinations. It ís nothing to worry about, but it might be a scary sometimes.

It is likely that you'll never have such an experience. Most people have only good experiences with SP, but don't get freaked out if you start seeing or hearing things during SP.

Score! I got sleep paralysis stage twice via WILD, first time I was woken by some one coming into my room and the second I think I may have lucid dreamed because it seemed I got to the transition stage but I may have fallen asleep or not be able to recall

      Hello Bowie,
It is my experience and knowledge I shared here. It not kinda romanticizing anything. I have experienced the worst form of SP, I faced death, hell and the worst creeps. I even consulted a psychiatrist to cure this. Later, the some articles by Lucid Scientists encouraged me to face it. Once you got the awareness, nothing can stop YOU. All the fear I was having was changed to positive energy. So what I intended here is to encourage the people who is having SP with some positive notes, and I felt this forum meant for that also.

I agree, and I think the best way to do this is not to pretend things are better than they are and keep information from people, but to tell what they can expect so they are prepared. How can you face something or gain awareness of something you have never heard about before? If you're experience is that SP can be scary, why not share that, why say that the worst thing that can happen are great LD's? I do not think that we should scare people away from things by telling scary stories, but what I think is even worse to do is keep information from them.

Hey Orson! What part of Ireland are you from? I was in Dublin for about a week in January and was able to take a day trip to Glendalough and Kilkenny and absolutely LOVED it there! At any rate, we're glad you joined us here and I look forward to seeing you around.

At any rate, if you haven't looked at the Tutorials, I'd recommend taking a look at at least DILD, MILD, and the Reality Check tutorials. Those are kind of the basics right there. WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming) is where someonegoes from a waking state into a dream, usually after having been asleep and waking up, though some accomplish it with naps as well. It seems to be more difficult for many people (myself included) because it requires that you lay still and relax until your body falls asleep while still keeping your mind awake. For some it comes very naturally, so it just depends on whether you want to try it or not.

As everyone else has said, don't worry about SP. Our bodies naturally go into SP when we dream so that we don't act out our dreams in real life, and then we go back to normal as we wake up. I'd say the majority of people never consciously experience sleep paralysis and those who do have bad experiences seem to be the loudest, so it's no wonder that some people get nervous. Just remember that it's a natural function and if you do find yourself in SP, just relax and wait to continue on into a dream

When thinking about dreams and the like, don't expect the worst to happen. Expect the best and if something unpleasant comes along deal with it then and move on. You'll be fine.

See you around and sweet lucid dreams!

My first post was short answers to the queries by the thread owner and I told that expert comments are following. You have given an expert comment on SP. Thanks for that. What I felt bad is that quoting my answer to criticize it. My answer was short and I believe its value. Let us not garbage this thread with unwanted arguments.

Im from Cork, but regularly travel to Dublin. Ive been in those parts before, stunning!

I keep getting close in WILD, My body goes numb, I see weird shapes (dark colours like dark green/red/blue) and think random thoughts, I also hear random stuff, like last time the entire original pokemon theme song played in my head, where do I go from here?

Thats where i get to, from MY understanding (not for certain)

if you dont enter SP soon, you are still to awake, and aware. Try to relax more and get borderline sleep (ive heard it explained as the feeling you get while staring at your T.V. at 4 a.m in the morning)

again im not sure, but i think it is you are still to awake.
