      Noob on the Verge...

Hi, Just thought I would post here. I'm new to the forum and wanted to say hello. I Just recently had my first dream within a dream, and it was strange but interesting. I I woke up from a deream in the night (which I don't remember), then went to the bathroom. When I flushed the toilet, it began overflowing and would not stop. I called to my wife for help, and then woke up for real. That got me interested in dreams, and I fell upon this site.

I've just started reading about how to lucid dream, and can't wait to have my first LD. Earlier this week, I was on the verge of doing it, but couldn't quite get there. I only remember dreaming about being in a dimly lit room. I then looked at my hands and noticed that they were indistinct and difficult to see, like a shadow, but with more substance. I looked at my hands a second time, and knew something was up, but couldn't quite get to the point where I thought, "Hey, this is a dream!"

The strangest dream I've had was years ago, where I dreamed I was in a Simpsons episode, and even dreamed in cartoon!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading a lot more on this forum, and excited to try lucid dreaming.

You'll get there soon I'm sure. Check out the DILD, RC, and WBTB tutorials, those are best for starting.

I've dreamed in cartoons too, there are two reasons for that. If you watch cartoons all day, you might dream in cartoons because dreams are made partially from you daily activities, or i you're really tired, you brain uses as little energy as possible, eliminating shading and shadow and such, making it look cartoony.
