      Hello guys my names Chris

well lets see where should i start?

About 5 years ago i started studying self hypnosis in order to have lucid dreams. i learned it entirely from websites with no formal training. this was a minor failure as the hypnotic state i would obtain created a sort of super day dream.

My mind would split and i would be a sort of storyteller as well as observer. 3 times in the last 5 years i would get into strong states of joy when in a deep state of hypnosis but those were quite rare.

The interesting side effects to my ventures in self hypnosis were, dreams feeling more realistic. i.e. foods tasted, sound and a lot of flight or fight types of dreams, and 3 moments of SP with the typical character sitting on your chest/choking you. as well as 3 moments of LD.

recently i've used binaural beats in conjunction with light self hypnosis, and this has improved my ability to enter that very strong state of hypnosis dramatically. since then i've had one FA which ended with SP (thankfully with no hypnagogic imagery this time) and a moment when i forced myself up from a nightmare. which also resulted in a very brief SP.

I have only just begun to attempt the techniques mentioned here and i am in fact still exploring the site. I just started a dream journal with mixed results. when i do wake up i don't immediately remember the dream sometimes and i wonder how much i should put down in the first place.

anyways, glad to join the site and hope to make friends with the lot of you.

well one question is this, does anyone here remember the transition from being awake and being in rem?

As an aspiring Oneironauts...(how do you say that?) i wonder if it's important. because last night i attempted this and found a sort of barrier of apprehension.

the last LD i had was almost accidental, i slipped into it from becoming so relaxed using self hypnosis and just said forget it and feel asleep.

I usually not able to experience the mentioned transition in night sleeps. But it occurs in my after noon naps, where I could feel the taste of up and down waves, such as approaching, waiting in the threshold, entering and exiting the wonderful experience of sleeping and dreaming. WILD method is same as this. One day I have came across 10 Lds in one AN nap.

When I did my first full WILD, before I entered the void, I actually blacked out for a second and "awoke" I say that lightly in the half dream state/half conscious state. I don't remember ever traveling there or not, but I remember the SP, then just kind of blacking out to find myself in the void. I guess your really don't have to worry about remembering on how you got there, just as long as you got there and that you are fully conscious.

I'm not sure but i think i just LDed. I did not get sleep paralysis but every single hallmark I've read concerning lucid dreaming occured. text was hard to read. the scenery constantly changed and I spun around or rubbed my hands to maintain it. but i was never ignorant of my true physical body. but it was behaving as though it was asleep, i even snored.

So did i just discover lucid dreaming lite?
