      Bob Marley

choosing title that describes topic? i dont see that one as nessisary. Well hello all. I'm here to learn more about lucid dreaming and related methods of controlling one's mind. I've had semi lucid dreams on random occasion, as far as realizing i was dreaming, i haven't really experienced being able to have control over the dreamscape. Infact the opposite is usually the case, if there is something i want, and try to will it to happen, it slips farther from my grasp and the whole dream falls apart. I do have a special skill for jumping very high, or falling fairly far unscathed, i can harness my momentum and swing from lightpost to lightpost and such. if that's something that can be worked with.

i feel i have potential, but that something is holding me back putting my faith in being able to control my consciousness. I dont really know where to start to overcome this trouble. Probably identifying what is blocking my progression. Any general suggestions? thanks

Can you please change your signature image to something much smaller. It takes up a whole page on my screen here and is excessive. Thanks.

      Welcome to dreamviews! Marley rocks!

The biggest obstacle to overcomming control is believing in yourself. It can be a challange to overcome. Just like Neo in the Matrix. It is disbelief that holds you back, however, there are some things you can use as crutches for a while.

One thing that worked well with me when I was learning control is to 'pretend' that you control the force. You can hold your hand out in front of you or wave it, however you like. Just use the force

As time goes on, and your belief in yourself increases, you will find that it will become much easier for you.
Also, start small. Don't try to destroy worlds at first, try little things like levitating pebbles.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

It takes time to grasp control of a LD, & unless you have had them for at least a year(skipping no nights), you are not likely to have control of it. And when it comes to fears in LDs, just stand up to them, just like Hector did in Ozzy & Drix (see my website).

I disagree. In my very first LD, I had the ability to go at super-speed and walk on walls. In my second, I could teleport and go through walls. Now I have complete control, and I've only been LDing for a year on and off. I just recently started LDing on will. It's just a matter of finding what works for you, really.

Well, I was 3 when I 1st had them, & I couldn't even talk, so how do you expect a 3 year old that is mute to control a LD?

Fair enough. We speak from our experience. It's all good.

Well, I got control at 4...I can control whatever happens. Like the time I kicked that stupid dolphin out of my dream, b/c he wouldn't let me play Fire Emblem my way!
