The others in our dreams -- Are they dreaming with us?

I'm curious -- is it possible that some of the people in our dreams are actually sharing our dream, that they are dreaming they're in our dream, while we are dreaming we're in their dream?

I've wondered this especially with dream people I've never seen or know. Would there be a way of knowing if they are just a part of our own dream world, or if they are infact dreams entering our dreams?

I can't think of any test to determine if random dream strangers are real people or not.
But I can think of one way you could be pretty sure they were just in your head - if you can control them.
Personally, I think everything and everyone in dreams are just contructs of the mind.

Next time, tell everyone in the area - anyone here who is not real, Vanish!
Sometimes lots of people vanish, sometimes only a few, sometimes none.

actually, the subconscious mind catches many things our conscious does not. People you think you have never seen before that appear in your dreams may be any random person you saw while you walked outside one day, or were somewhere other than your home, and you just didn't remember seeing them.

I agree. A movie I've seen which, and I'm trying not to spoil any plotlines, demonstrates the construction of a dream in such an amazing way is "Mulholland Dr." by David Lynch. I recommend you watch it.

Once I had an LD where I commanded everyone to disappear and most of them did, but a few students remained and so did the teacher. I commanded the rest of the students to disappear, but the teacher remained. I told him to just screw off already and he said, "I most certainly will not!" However, this was just my subconscious messing around back when I first started.
To me, it's rather obvious that almost all DCs are just creations of the mind because they have no presence. You can't feel them there like a real person. Very rarely will I be able to feel a DC as being there like a real person, and when it does happen, it's my "DG" if you want to call it that. Once, the DC claimed to be a DV member and twice, these DCs were just observing the dream. The creepy thing about these observers is that the one time it was said that I was in the spirit world and the other time it looked just like someone who had recently died. I attribute these to, quite simply, my subconscious wanting to have some fun with simulating that feeling of presence, but who knows?
