      Can Anyone Help Me?

Hello everyone! ive recently began looking into lucid dreaming the past 2 months pretty hard, and ive tried on several occasions to do so. But on the other note, the time i picked up lucid dreaming, i was looking into astral projection as well. After reading a book for lucid dreaming; and researched the astral body ive gotten myself very confused.

In the book Lucid Dreaming A Gateway To The Inner Self, the author has a section comparing and dis-comparing lucid and OBE experiences. But then he goes into saying he to has had a few OBE experiences where he was flying around his neighborhood and saw actual people, thus leading me to think he is on the RTZ(Real Time Zone) field?

In conclusion ive had about 5 lucid dreams the past month, or maybe astral projections. Because everytime i think im lucid dreaming im only in my area of where i fell asleep at the night before. So am i astral projecting and just forgetting about it and thats why im there everytime? So the question is, if you astral project and get out of your body, is it the same concept of lucid dreaming and doing what you want. On nights ive specifically practiced trying to astral project, ive fallen asleep but to find myself in a lucid dream?

Whoever helps, or reads this it would be GREATLY appreciated.

      thank you

I'm not too familiar with astral experiences so my answer is probably going to sound off but from what you are describing it sounds more to me like a lucid dream. If you are falling asleep and finding yourself in a lucid dream then you are having the lucid dream. Though I'm quite confused by your questioning, your trying to see if your having astral or lucid experiences?

I haven't had experience with AP, but in LDs, you can change things in your surrounding, while they say AP is in real time and you'd be able to see your own body in bed. I've also heard that you can go from a LD to AP. I always thought that AP and OOBE were the same thing, but I'm not so sure anymore.

So then does anyone know if astral projecting is different from lucid dreams? Why are my lucid dreams only in an area of where I fall asleep at. Thus making me think
I'm astral projecting out of my body and being in the RTZ?

      Real Time Zone????

Might want to take this one to the 'Beyond Dreaming' forum on this website Nickis. It an area specifically for people who believe in supernatural aspects of dreaming.

As to the difference between LDs and OBEs

Lucid Dream= a dream in which the dream becomes aware of the fact that they are dreaming.

OBE= What some people believe is an event in which their "spirit" leaves their body and can travel around.

So your telling me the past 4-5 lucid dreams ive had have ALL been just coincidentally around the area i fell asleep at?

Like do you astral project then slip into a dream, then you can become lucid again thus being a lucid dream?

I'm having such a hard time understand what you're asking Nickis.

Here's the thing. An OBE is just that, an experience where you feel like you're out of your body. This can be a dream or it can be a another trick of the mind.

Astral projection is — firstly it's a myth in my opinion — where you project your spirit. Ever watched the show Charmed; the one with those three hot witch sisters? They would astral project their spirit here there and bloody everywhere.

Do you believe your spirit is leaving your body? If so, this isn't the right forum to be asking these questions on. This forum is about lucid dreaming, not the supernatural.
If you don't believe your spirit is leaving your body then do you believe your mind is playing tricks on you or that it's just a dream? If so, I've read plenty about that happening in lucid dreams; especially when trying to WILD. It doesn't matter where it happens or how it happens. If it happens and you're lucid then it's a lucid dream. If it happens and you're not lucid then you're just having a dream.

As for all the real time zone stuff. I have no idea what you're talking about.

mayybe you should be less serious about it. like Foul said, if you fall asleep then you're dreaming. also, never ever ever ask technical questions about dreams. If you are too technical and precise then the just answer will be: we don't know.
when i have a lucid dream the first thing I will do isorder a pizza.

      PIZZA
      pizza is sacred.

So your pretty much saying astral projection doesnt exist, and be less serious? im surprised you have the ability to see my seriousness in an online forum.

      Hmmm...maybe we're hitting a language barrier.

But yes, Nickis, a lot of people do not think astral projection exists. We don't think you dreaming that you're hovering over your body and going into space is any more real than the dream where all your teeth fall out and you get sucked down the drain.

That said, there are people who DO think astral projection is possible. Check out the 'Beyond Dreaming' forum on this website for that kind of stuff.
