letting dream characters know of the dream

i have had several lucids now, and the past two nights i got lucid during both.

after becoming lucid i often black out into dark, black, empty dreamspace but the past few times i haven't done that right away. i even managed to summon an object through simply believing it was there. it was a pipe. what was strange, though, is how it morphed shape while i was observing it.

so the past two lucids i've become pre-occupied, after becoming lucid, with letting the dream characters know that "this is a DREAM," by telling them directly. most of the time i am just looked at like i'm stupid or i've even been argued with by my college professor that we are NOT in a dream. anyways how can i stop my pre-occupation with wanting to inform these characters?

another thing, the lucid i had last night i found it very difficult to speak. it's like when i spoke everything went in slow motion and the words don't come out right. it seemed the characters understood what i was saying most of the time, through some sort of telepathy or something. anyways is there something i can do about this slow-motion thing to make it not hinder me?

thanks, looking forward to get more experienced in lucidland.

Well before going to bed come up with a specific task you want to accomplish in your next lucid dream, than as soon as your in a lucid dream, sit down rub your hands together, and touch everything around you, use all your senses ie smell something, listen for sounds, remind urself this is a dream and that anything is possible. Now after your stabilized remember your predetermined task and than continue to accomplish it.

Congrats on the lucids. Agree with moongrass. When I don't have a plan, I often do the first thing that occurs to me which is usually either flying, sex, or telling DCs that they aren't real. I think this is common for many people. So make a plan before going to sleep. On becoming lucid, develop a routine to stabilize the dream and remember your plan.

I know how it feels to have certain "glitches" in your dreams. With me it was gravity being too strong so I couldn't get up and do anything, yet I was completely lucid!
Sometimes saying "increase speed" or something like that may help.

All of the above is solid. I've found that not only do I tend to do the first thing that comes to mind when I don't have a plan, but I am also more likely to lose lucidity when I'm just sort of winging it.

As for the slow-talking thing if you can become lucid you should be able to will yourself out of it. That said, you probably don't even need to physically say things out loud. All the DCs are in your head, so it really is some telepathy going on...just you send thoughts to youself.

Weird, I wanted to see the reaction I would get when I told a DC they didn't exist. Everything went in slow motion and it was very hard to speak. I think your actually speaking from your physical body when doing this, its not necessary I found out later. Its all like telepathic pretty much even though your really just talking to your self. Try to get away from the Dc's as much as you can a the start of your dream, if they chase after you, have fun and fight it they might trying to tell you something but if someones chasing after you they might plan on doing something bad, I learned that the hard way
