Dream Characters Initiated My Lucid Dream

Ok, I am pretty much of a lurker on this site but I had to share this dream because it was so bizzare. I haven't Lucid Dreamed in about three months either so it was kinda refreshing.

I share a basement suite with my friend (in reality). In my dream, I was sitting on one of my couches by myself, enjoying the quiet. All of a sudden, the door opens and my mom walks in, followed by my brother. An old lady also came in which I did not know. They soon all started talking loudly and there was an atmosphere of excitement. Then my sister came in playing the guitar. After that, I had to ask myself, 'okay, what's going on here guys? This is pretty unexpected and uncalled for'.

So they all looked at me with smiles that were definitely hiding something. My mom finally admitted that this is all a surprise for me. I was like 'a surprise? It's not my birthday or anything, what's this for?'

"SURPRISE!!! THIS IS YOUR LUCID DREAM!!! YOU'RE LUCID!!!!" (they yelled out....obviously).

They threw me a 'surprise lucid party'. I was like 'wow, thanks guys, that's way cool'. I wasn't extremely lucid but I remember showing off my lucid skills to my family by like floating above the ground and stuff like that. The dream ended shortly after.

I was just absolutely perplexed when I woke up. Never before have I got lucid in that fashion; it was always self-initiated. I just don't understand how or why that happened. I was grateful needless to say though.

Thats a really unique way of becoming lucid

Very cool. Now if only they could do that every night, right? DC's are all in your head and created by you, (this is what i ...believe...ill just say that cause some people might think otherwise), so this is pretty neat. Im wondering if your techniques or preperations to become lucid had changed in the past week or so? Maybe there is a way to sort of script a dream charecter to tell help you become lucid. Or maybe it was just completely random. Either way thats neat. By the way, your homepage rocks

lol. . . it sounds like a really fun dream.

In my last LD when I began to become suspicious that something wasn't right, a dream character told me to do an RC and I became lucid. It's really interesting how sometimes your mind fights to keep you from becoming lucid and at other times it helps you to get there by throwing you a party.

Heh heh, that sounds like it was fun.

it seems to me that you have "told" yourself, weather it be consciously or unconsciously that one or all three of your DC's were linked with LDing. When you saw the DC's, that triggered the sense of a LD.
