Stopping by to encourage fellow newbies and ask another question of the veterans

      Spoiler for Veterans:

      Dear, fellow newbies.

So I haven't seen much of this happening. I know that there is a plethora of people here that want to help you and answer your questions, but I've not seen any other newbies who choose to come and encourage the newbies of this forum as he's making progress.
That's what I'm here to attempt.

So about 6 days ago. I had my first lucid dream. It took me four months to achieve. It was a cool little accomplishment and all but I was worried that it was going to take ages for it to happen again. Well it didn't, I just woke up from my second lucid dream.

I won't bore anyone with the details of the dream, as I didn't in the first case, unless you ask about it. I just wanted to come here and try to convey, to those of you who think they're broken or that this isn't going to work for them, to keep at it and don't give up. It's taken me 4 months and about 35 or more meaningful dream logs in my journal for this to happen, but it's happened just the same. Stick with it guys.

      Dear, veterans!

I seem to be random LD man! Some of you may remember that my first lucid dream was attained by a dream character telling me that I was dreaming. You may also remember that I didn't believe her, argued with her vaguely and then attempted a reality check to prove her wrong.

Well this time I gained lucidity while playing a computer game. My dream body was playing the computer — it's one that I've been playing a lot of recently; that's gotta be why it's managed to work it's way into a dream — and had climbed onto the roof of a shed to gain a top shot on the enemy. I shot the last of the enemy, thus securing the immediate area, and instead of climbing back down off the roof of the shed or jumping off it straight down, I jumped thirty or so meters off of it. I remember expecting there to be pain in my knees when I hit the ground but there was nothing.
I did not gain lucidity there.

The next area of the computer game I had to get to was kind of far away so I jumped into the air and expected some rocket boots to kick in so I could fly there. As I did this — flew along with sudden rocket propulsion — I performed a reality check and became lucid. The scenery was suddenly beautiful, lush, jungle covered, mountains on the side of a canal or lake (think cliché images of Panama Canal).

I'm not fully understanding if this is typical — the random ways I've become lucid that is — or not. I certainly haven't read any, or at least many, accounts that are the same as my first two lucids.
I'm basically just asking if the veterans can tell me, 'yeah don't worry, you're average like the rest of us.' or not.

      Thanks in advance.

It's clear in the DILD description that they are Random. It's normal to have lucid dreams randomically when using the DILD technique.
So, yeah, you are like the average.
