      Greetings; New to Lucid Dreaming

Hello everyone, I'm very new to the notion of Lucid Dreaming. I'm really excited about the possibilities it holds. I've started very slowly, trying to improve my dream recall over the past week. I've been setting an alarm for 6 hours after I sleep to try to wake up mid REM sleep, so as to help remember. The few times I've done it though, I wake up and don't remember anything. Weirdly enough, as I get up the next day, within 30 minutes of waking I randomly remember a dream or two I had the night before. I'm not entirely sure if I'm doing this correctly and just getting lucky. Any thoughts?

Welcome to DreamViews! First of all, do you have a dream journal to write them down in? That does wonders. Dream come back randomly sometimes. Since we might do something while awake that would trigger the memory.

      Thanks!!

Yep, I have a dream journal sitting next to my bed. I've managed to get the dreams I've remembered down on paper. Just last night I've begun looking over it before I go to bed, hoping to get my mind thinking about dreams beforehand. I usually try some sort of short affirmation statement. Something to the effect of, "After I dream next, I will wake up and remember it" and repeat it for a few minutes. We'll see how it goes.

Hello and welcome. I am very new to lucid dreaming as well but since i came to these forums i have had 3 lucid dreams in a few weeks and my dream recall is through the roof. A dream journal is a must. A good place to start (for me at least) is to RC all day, read your dream journal before sleep and attempt to DILD or MILD. Good luck!
