      New Questions

So a suggested method of becoming lucid is doing an RC in a dream. But I'm confused.
Is your dream self doing the RC? If it is, how do you get your dream self to do them every time you have a dream?

      -OR-

Are you doing it by becoming aware for a short while that you might be dreaming? Like becoming lucid for 10 seconds and doing a RC. And if you do become lucid to do an RC, why can't you just stay lucid?

      UGH! TOO MANY QUESTIONS!

The idea of reality checking is to make a habit of reality checks in real life so that it would become a habit in you dreams too. Try to make reality checks several times a day and try to question the reality. Personally I like very much a reality check in which you pinch your nose and try to breath through it. If you can breath, you're dreaming. It's easy and quick to do and it has never failed to me.

Excellent questions Tony, and unfortunately I don't have good answers. Hate is right when he says that the idea is to get in the habit of doing RCs, so that you'll do them in your dreams too, but that method has never worked for me.

For me, the second part of your question is closer to the truth -- I suddenly get the idea that I might be dreaming, and then do a test to make sure -- although if I have enough precense of mind to question reality I always seem to know whether I'm dreaming or not -- it's just a feeling. Since I can always fly in my dreams, as soon as I think I'm dreaming I will attempt to lift off the ground and float or fly (please, don't do a RC by jumping off a building!) As soon as I'm off the ground, then that's 100% confirmation that I'm dreaming.
