      Over Active Imagination.

Does having an over active imagination have any effect on lucid dreaming. What I am tryng to say is does the acceptance of the "Impossible" in "day dreaming" for example restrict ones ability to become lucid. Seeing as "Reality Checks" and questioning certain aspects of every day life are an important element in achieving lucidity. Also would this be applicable to certain personality types. It just seems a little at odds, thats all.

I'm confused as to your question. Do you have a tendency to believe everything in a dream, or the reverse? Your phrasing made things a little difficult.

It just seems to make everything a little at odds. I mean if one accepts the "fantastic" in everyday life, how can we even begin to "reality check".

That's the definition of a Reality Check--Forcing yourself to think logically about your situation, rather than accepting what's there as given. On a regular basis (several times a day) force yourself to question everything--the color of the neighbor's dog, the time on the clock, the words in a book, etc. Don't just look at the surface, either, ask yourself what makes it so that these things appear as they are. If you're in a dream, you'll realize because there won't be any reasons there to be found.

Tsen's given some good adice about the reality checks. A good idea for when to do them is whenever you get curious. The RC I use most often is holding my nose and trying to breathe. If you can still breathe in through your nose when it's plugged, you're dreaming.

I have a very active imagination, but I am also a very accepting person of things both in real life and in the dream world, leading to my unquestioning nature in dreams. I'm working on that right now, though.

I dont think many people are able to see the fantastic unorganized events that happen around them eachday.

I know some people who have a hard time doing reality checks because their dreams are so boring like their everyday life. Lol, well i'm not trying to say they have boring lives, what i mean is: usually in dreams weird fantastic things happen; whereas, in their dreams nothing out of the ordinary takes place. So reality checks are really no good to them because they have such a hard time telling the difference from dreaming to actual life.
I never had or have had to use reality checks to have LDs. My dreams are so crazy and different from everyday life i am able to tell the difference.

I have the problem of an over imaginative waking imagination. I'm constantly thinking of off the wall things. So when off the wall things happen in dreamtime, they are much more harder for me to catch. Lol...I hate that.
