brief dreams before sleep (hypnagogic??)

I always get these. More like, I'm starting to notice these more. Like i woke up yesterday and tried to remember my dreams. I couldn't, so i go use the bathroom and drink some water. I go back to bed and try to remember again. i was trying so hard not to fall asleep but then i always seem to "doze off" and i get these brief dreams that seem more like daydreams but i can feel, see and hear what's going on. It's over as quickly as i realize it. So is this hypnagogic imagery? How can i stay in it rather then waking? Thanks

Yes, your brain is still quite awake when you first dose off, and it's imagination is running loose, while at the same time you brain is loosing grip on reality, this is where your imagery comes from.
