Red face Trouble with sleep paralysis/hypnagogic imagery

ive attempted to induce sleep paralysis and hypnagogic imagery many times with no success, i get completly relaxed without moving at all and i seem to be just laying there for more than an hour and nothing happens except a slight tingling numb sensation in my arms and legs. ill be laying down for such a long time without anything happening and i ultimatly get uncomfortable and have to change the position im laying in. any ideas? what am i doing wrong?

Try pairing it with some mental relaxation and meditation techniques. Just laying still will not really do much. You want to get your body really relaxed, to the point where you are almost falling asleep.

Try some of the tricks in the WILD tutorials:

Also keep in mind that there are other ways to lucid dream. DILD techniques for one, but also other WILD techniques. If you are not predisposed to getting ISP, there may be better and easier routes for you to become lucid.

Yeah. However, it also depends on when you are trying to induce the Sleep Paralysis. Are you doing it right before you go to sleep? Typically, it is VERY difficult to do right before you go to sleep. Waking up in the middle of the night 4-5 hours after you have gone to sleep, then going BACK to sleep and attempting to induce SP again can help greatly. WILDing is the same way; it's very difficult to do BEFORE sleeping, but int he middle of the night [I've heard] it's much easier.
