      My experience thusfar...

Well..hey there. Only seems appropriate to make the newbie intro It's a bit lengthy but I'd love to hear your thoughts on my dream experiences thusfar.

It all started when I accidently found myself in a lucid dream about 6 months ago. I think the damiana involved in my roommate's "spice" habit probably had something to do with it but that's another story...hehe. The basic rundown of the dream was that I was at a friend's house and this girl was coming over. The details are kind of hazy but throughout the dream the connection between us was very strong and I remember the feeling very clearly to this day. We both knew we were dreaming but the dream was more centered around our experience together, lucidity was intrinsic to this but not something I consciously pondered on much. We were alone and at some point got to talking on the bed (before sealing the deal ). Besides enjoying some candy I remember one part of the conversation very clearly. It's hazy who actually said it as I never wrote the dream down but I remember the statement: "I can't believe we can be doing this while they're sleeping" ("they" referring to our sleeping bodies). After this it was time for the love-making...and I woke up from excitement. No surprise there being my first lucid experience!
For awhile I thought this was merely a very cool, very vivid and different dream from any other. The part that has always interested me, however, is that throughout my time with this person and even after waking up she never came off as just another character from a dream like all my others. The feeling was clear throughout that this was a REAL person. A couple weeks ago I started to really research lucid dreaming and needless to say when I came upon the topic of shared lucid experiences I was absolutely floored. Any thoughts or similar experiences?

In those past few weeks I've gotten serious about having more lucid dreams, but I'd love some suggestions for entering and maintaining lucidity. All of my dreams lately have been a lot more detailed along with my recall. Mugwort and damiana seem to have contributed a good portion to this. Dreams seem to have a much clearer structure, timeline, and progression now. I have dreams that aren't lucid but in which I simply "know" how to fly and do it easily when it goes with the storyline, so I think flying won't be much of a problem once I attain lucidity! I mostly use DILD but I think WILD will come once I get the flow down. Closest I've gotten recently was when in my dream I was at a stop light and found all lights to be green. Immediately as I was thinking "I'm dreaming" I woke up. I suppose I just need to maintain calm and clarity once I realize lucidity and not let the thought of it excite me too much!

Thanks After perusing a bit I'm definitely in agreement that a dream journal could help a lot. Certainly wish I had recorded my lucid experience when it was fresh!

Got my first intentional lucid last night Very short and ended in a false awakening but VERY cool just to experience it again. This site has already been a great help!

Thank you! Indeed I was pretty pissed at myself for forgetting to do a check but I had already lost most of the lucidity I'd had in the events leading up to the FA anyway. Next time I'll have to make sure to stabilize before rushing into things
