New member, wanting to say hello.

Hello! My name's Rubrica, real name Ben, and I just wanted to introduce myself. I stumbled across the concept of lucid dreams whilst browsing TVTropes a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to induct one since. I don't think I'll be posting much here necessarily, but I will visit frequently and use the dream journal, though my recall is dreadful; I only remember one dream every few months or so. However, when I do recall dreams, they tend to be at least five hours long, and I recall one that lasted three days. This is somewhat unusual, because I only actually get five hours of sleep per night.

Now that the superfluously long intro is done, I'd like to ask a question; how can I improve my recall? I've tried keeping a waking journal in which I recount the events of each day, to hone my memory, but thus far it has had no effect. Does anyone know of any sure-fire methods of improving my dream recall! Thanks!

Have a nice day, and I hope to see you all more.

      Rubrica

(don't worry, I don't usually sign my posts so tediously)

Hi and welcome! What you need to do, is not only write down your dreams you remember during the morning, but really TRY to remember them. Lie still and let them come to you, or force them if nothing happens by thinking about random scenarios or perhaps an image popping up.

You can also do some mantra's before bed, like; "I will remember my dreams".

I wish you the best of luck! If you have any further questions feel free to ask them here on in a PM.

      Keep on dreaming!
