      Potential WILD

Hello everyone this is not my first time visiting this website (I've learned a lot about lucid dreaming from this site, thank you) but my experience with the dream world last night inspired me to register and post here.

Last night I believe that I had performed my first WILD, I have had 1 DILD in the past and have attempted to WILD a least 10 times previous and only came close once. I have known about lucid dreaming for around a year and a half and have been interested in it on and off. Now to try to make this story less complicated, I am going to use the term "bedview" (I just made this up) which is the view you have from the position you are sleeping in, for example if you are sleeping on your side and facing the wall, your "bedview" would be the wall and if you don't shift in your sleep then its the first thing you see when you wake up (stay with me here haha). My bedview last night was the wall, which had 3 framed pictures on it.

I had went to bed at around midnight last night and had taken a nap earlier that day from 1 to around 4 (i dont know if this made any difference) and was pretty tired. I could hear the television on from downstairs and thats about it. So anyway, I was lying down on my side one arm under the pillow and one over the covers near my face with my eyes closed trying to sleep. I let my mind wander and I am unsure if I was dreaming or imagining but I was in a construction site trying to reach a window that was too high up. I thought to myself that if I was either dreaming or imagining this it didn't matter because I can just fly up to the window either way. Once I did this, I felt the chills slowly creep up my body and then I felt my body falling. I then opened my eyes to see my bedview (the wall I was facing.)

After awaking I remained in the same position I was lying in and tried to imagine myself in a forest jumping on branches and running around and stuff. I felt tingling in my toes and fingertips and when I opened my eyes to see my bedview I tried plugging my nose to do a reality check and couldn't breath. So that didn't work.

Then I tried a new approach. After lying there with my eyes closed and letting my mind wander a bit, I imagined my bedview in my head, as if my eyes were open. After doing this for a few minutes I imagined myself moving in my head as if my eyes were open, but in reality I was lying still with my eyes closed. It was at this moment that I felt the chills run up my body and then I once again fell through my bed, but this time I was seeing my bedview in my head. I could see the wall moving and then I could see the inside of my bed as I was falling through it and then the floor as I was falling through that. As all this was happening I felt fully conscience as if I was not asleep.

Once I fell through the floor I somewhat teleported back into my bed and my original bedview (liek I was awake). I then knew I was dreaming (maybe) and attempted to move my hands, It was at this time that I saw my hands move away from my own hands, like my dream body was coming out of my real body. I sat up in my bed and walked to my bathroom and flipped the light switch but no light came on. I felt like I was imagining this whole event because I could feel and hear and see everything like I was awake. I then walked downstairs and plugged my nose and could still breath through it. At this point I was certain that I was dreaming but still a little confused. Everything seemed really dark and I couldn't open my eyes all the way, so before trying to get a girl to appear (haha) I attempted to open my eyes all teh way so I can see clearly. When I opened my eyes I saw my bedview again and did a reality check; I was awake. But didnt feel any different.

Now I think that this whole thing happened in a time span of 1 - 2 hours but am unsure. Im going to try the same strategy tonight and update you. Basically I imagined myself being awake while I was trying to sleep. Sorry this was confusing but I thought I would share.

      Thanks for reading!

When your dream gets darker, you need to re-stabilize. Try rubbing your hands together next time. Congrats on the WILD, though. I might try this next time.
I find that visualization and moving your dream body often speeds up the process of body paralysis, but I have to be really tired in order for it to work.

Yes, Congratulations on your WILD. this was successful even though it may not have been entirely vivid.. more vividness will come with time.. this was successful.. the one thing to keep in mind is do not focus on the body sleeping your bed, but focus more on the things around you and your nonphysical body... good luck and let us all know if you have more..
