      Kinda newbie, kinda not.

So. I had a couple of lucid dreams at utter random. I think I'm nearly always very slightly lucid... and in both my spontaneous lucid dreams, the content of the dream got very, very interesting and then very nearly stopped - to which I basically said 'HELL NO get back there right *now*, you stupid treacherous dream'. Which they did.

Then, while talking to a friend about dreams, I got curious, googled, and lurked around ld4all for about four months. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I switched to lurking around here (I know people on ld4all in real life, and talking about dreams when I KNOW THEY CAN HEAR ME is kinda creepy, so I didn't register. This is not my usual nick, either). I wasn't planning to register here, because I don't really have any astonishingly unoriginal n00b questions - thanks to the combined resources of tutorials here and at ld4all. And yet most of the time I'm not nearly good enough to give advice. But then there was a thread which I could not help but answer. So here I am. Now that I have an account, I plan on using it.

Now that's out of the way.

I am not a complete beginner, but neither am I very good at this. I tend to have bouts of enthusiasm when I take dreaming seriously, but then I get distracted by something shiny, or, more recently, exams loom threateningly.

      So. Hello, people.

As for what I'm like as a person... I live in London. I'm 18. Female. I will mostly be on these message boards when procrastinating work I should have done three weeks ago. I like words and writing (had you guessed?). I also like many, many other things which range from Final Fantasy to playing the piano to painting watercolours to sushi. Mostly I dream about stuff that is so banal it shames me. When I'm more lucid, the dreams are rather cooler.

OK, I'm done babbling. FOR NOW. Muwahaha.

Welcome tanaqui Your name reminds me of a character in a book I read, oh about 7 years ago (Tanaquil, if I remember correctly). I, myself, also like words and writing. I haven't finished anything yet, but I'm working on stuff

Anyway, I'm glad you joined us. Sometimes there are just dreams you don't want your friends to know about, like the one I had the..... just kidding. Feel free to peruse at your own risk and I'm glad you've got some experience with LDing and are willing to share it with others.

      Sweet Lucid Dreams!

It is from a book, but the name is Tanaqui - it's Diana Wynne Jones' Spellcoats.

Feel free to ask any question too. It doesn't have to be an, "astonishingly unoriginal n00b questions."

Thanks! It's a tiny section from a painting of mine. The painting makes perfect sense (kinda photographic), but I like the way this particular random detail seems to hint at all kinds of shapes. So I won't link you to it, and you can keep wondering what on earth it is.

      Beautiful!
I love the fact that you did not link me to "it". Because You understand that abtractism can make perfect sense to anyone without putting a lable on it.

Yeah, it's a little spoiled for me because I can see what is 'really' there (I mean, what I intentionally painted). But if I forget, it's much cooler.
