Welcome to DV! Do you wake up rather fast when you realize your dreaming like I do? |

My 1st post here. I recall dreams every day, so vivid that real life cannot compare. So I assume I have countless dreams I cannot recall, therefore I must have at least 4 or 5 dreams per night. Who knows. Occasionally they seem to go on for hours. I think about 20% of my dreams are LD's, to some extent. Must admit, though, that it becomes difficult to try to stay in, or control, an enjoyable dream that I would like to prolong. Interestingly, it is not only the pleasurable dreams that I would like to stay in. Most dreams have an otherworldly element of fear or danger or extreme bizarreness, and I find those especially desirable to want to experience. In many, Fellini is out-Fellinied. |

Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

Oftentimes, I do. But I make a (sub)conscious effort to stay on with the dream, of course. Sometimes I am able to remain in, but then things have usually changed enough that I am somehow disappointed. If I realize it was a s*x dream, and want to stay in, knowing there are no real-world consequences, guess what? Nothing happens! Just like in real life! haha |

I had my very first lucid dream last night, it was great fun even though it lasted only about 10 seconds |

I know it can be hard, but don't get too excited when you realize you are dreaming. I usually don't get excited (anymore), instead the excitement comes later in the morning when I remember the dream. I sometimes do feel (or just think) that I'm not in deep sleep, but usually that is just me thinking. |

Welcome to the forums, I understand what you mean! The mere thought of the possibilities of lucid dreaming is bringing up many many scenarios in my head, also, as you say, bizarre ones. The only thing I can think of, is staying calm (as Recidul points out). Excitement wakes you up too fast |
