      What does this mean?

Ok so about an hour ago I went to sleep, I was taking deep breaths through my mouth making a light sound and counting 1,2,3 etc when inhaling. When I was exhaling I was saying to myself, I will have a lucid dream(I read this not 2 hours ago in a tutorial on here), now from what i can gather 20 minutes and 160 numbers in, I got somewhere. Btw, I believe the technique I was trying was a WILD.

At about 156 I saw black and white lines, like an optical illusion sort flash in front of my eye lids. As soon as I saw the lines I lost count of the number I was at, I started counting again but I forgot what I was saying on my exhale and it took about 3 seconds before I almost remembered then I heard a MASSIVE ZAP. As soon as I heard this sound I jumped up and opened my eyes, it scared me. I could feel my arms where sort of numb a bit but I was able to jump up straight away and could move normally.

Did a RC but sadly wasn't an LD

Sorry if none of this makes sense, it's 1:45am and I'm still sort of confused. I'm going to go back to sleep and try this again, if it's possible to do that.

Another question. I can resist the urge to swallow, itch and only focus my mind on counting and saying "i will have a lucid dream tonight", however my eyelids keep trying to blink. Towards the end before this happened I somewhat could stop the blinking happening a lot more frequently but does this make a major impact on being about to LD or not?

I'm still only new to this, it's been maybe 3 days since I found out about LD'ing and I've wrote 2 dreams down in my dream journal already so go easy on me, please.

Were you trying to WILD when you first went to sleep? That doesn't work because you don't go into a dream that early.

Sleep paralysis can give you strange hallucinations, the body disconnecting from the mind can create all sorts of weirds sights and sounds.
