      Question Help me!... please?

Hey, guys I really need help! Every time I go to bed, I suddenly get scared to Lucid Dream and tell my Subconscious not to Lucid Dream! Yet when I'm awake I keep doing reality checks having the intention to Lucid Dream tonight!
      Got any advice?!?

Hmm...its a bit tricky. It can be a bit overwhelming at first for sure. When you fear lucid dreaming in your case, it is most likely a fear of the unknown. Its a completely unexplored world/place to your mind where anything can happen. There are no rules, set structure, etc. I would definitely avoid trying to hit SP (using WILD methods) as these things are difficult to control and can be frightening. So, stick to DILD (like you seem to be). You need to remember that it is a dream completely fabricated by the confines of your own mind. If you don't want to get scared during the dream (you won't). There isn't much frightening at all about a Lucid Dream aside from the fear of the unknown. As soon as you have your first LD, you will be over that. You won't be afraid to lucid dream anymore. You have to remember that nothing can harm you within the dream state. You will be fine. Just keep doing your RCs and try to assure yourself that you will be perfectly fine in a lucid. Once you become lucid that first time, your fear (of the dream state) issues with dissolve. Good Luck to you and remember that once that first hurdle is cleared, things will get easier.

      Never heard that before...

Are you telling yourself that voluntarily?

But, yes, I wouldn't go into Sleep Paralysis if you're already afraid of lucid dreaming in general...

No problem at all. Once you get over that initial hurdle I'd bet the farm you will be perfectly fine. Good Luck! Stay Positive!

Hey YoshiKing, I had my first Lucid Dream today... and I was so scared that I was paralyzed! (Not really, but it felt that way!) When I first became Lucid (Nose RC), I wasn't to scared but I was freaked out that I was dreaming! It felt so real... The chair, the flour, everything! But my subconscious hates me and turned the Lucid Dream into a Nightmare! I saw the shadow of the deadly Metal Worm... (I named it that cause that's what I yelled right before I became Lucid) and it was coming closer! Lucky for me, I didn't actually see it. But before I yelled,"Metal Worm!" I saw a statue of it, exactly what the shadow looked like. Perhaps it came to life. Anything in a dream can happen, right? When I saw the shadow, I closed my eyes because I was scared. When I opened them, I was in my bed with my cat: Kali. I woke up scared as heck! I didn't move for fifteen minutes! I was not in Sleep Paralysis: I was just scared! I promised my self that I will never do a Reality Check again... I obliviously broke that promise and practiced more Reality Checks. Whats a little Nightmare stopping me from Lucid Dreaming? Read my full Dream on my Channel (If you want to) Stuff that I didn't mention in my Dream: I did say that nothing could harm me in a dream before I closed my eyes. Also there was a whole beginning of the dream: I was with my grandma and she said I could have the house and that she was moving, she also said to make sure her Cheerios (Cereal) were not eaten by the me... (I could not hear the rest but I assume she was going to say "Metal Worm"). While I saw the shadow, a eerie sound was playing... ...And last but not least, The house was very re-arranged. the bedroom was where the computer was! I hope I have a lot less scary Lucid Dream in the future!!!

Anything can happen in a dream...true. Next time you get into the dream and something scary comes, kick its ass! You are the master of your dreams, not the worm or anything else. Its ok to feel scared...it happens, but if you have a lucid dream again and something shows up...go beat the piss out of it. In your dream, you are the most powerful being, don't be afraid to assert your authority on dream characters/creatures if need be. Once you whip its ass one good time, you'll realize what I'm talking about and won't be scared anymore. Congrats on having a lucid, btw. Don't worry, sometimes you just gotta build some courage and kick that bastards ass. when its laying on the ground, stomp its face and shout, "I am the master of this world!" Thats what I would do in your situation! Good luck to you!

Thank you. But everything was so sudden! In the Dream, for some reason, I was scared of the Dream monster before I even saw it. which means, Lucid or not, it was going to be a nightmare. And to have a first Lucid Dream like that... it was a lot scarier than you think! Having a nightmare is bad enough, but to be a IN the Nightmare while everything felt real... I was has scared has a guy falling of of the Empire State Building!!!
But of course, all experts were once beginners to. I assume you also had the same problem while first Lucid Dreaming, right? Oh yeah, In all my recent Nightmares, The Metal Worm is like always there. Even if the Nightmare has nothing to do with him, my Subconscious fits him in there somewhere! What would you call that? Also, I would of kicked his butt if I wasn't so scared of everything, and it was really sudden too! Like, right when I did the Reality Check I saw the shadow of the Metal Worm, and I was scared to death!!!
Now I'm scared to sleep because I'm worried that I'm going to have a Lucid Dream in a Nightmare!!!
Which, for me, is not pleasant!!! But I just have to get over it, don't I? Thanks KingYoshi! Next time that happens I'll make sure that I can get up and Show that hunk of junk who is boss!!! Thanks Again!

Yeah, everyone has their own different issues/problems when they first start LDing. With some practice you'll be fine. Just remind yourself when you get scared, that nothing can hurt you in the dream. You will get the hang of it soon enough.
