Always fail when attempting to WILD

      Heya guys!

So i've been trying to WBTB-WILD every single night for a week now. As usually, I always set the alarm to wake me up 4-6 hours after I go to bed. Alarm goes off, I wake up, I drink some water and I go back to bed to start the WILD attempt. Minute after minute goes and I'm fully concentrated. I even count 1 - I know it'll all be a dream 2 - I know it'll all be a dream and so on... And then all of a sudden I just wake up several hours later.

So what the heck is wrong? Am I spasticated? *Smiling*. I just fall asleep for no reason even though I'm fully concentrated and even though I believe "This time I will succed wilding". Whats wrong?

Hey, I'm kinda new too (1 or 2 months) When i just started, I felt like I couldn't ever remember dreams. Then I got a dream journal on the 3rd day and started remembering dreams on the 5th or 6th day. I remember a couple of dreams a night now. Then I saw inception and started carrying around a dream totem...that didn't work. I finally had my first lucid dream at about week 2 after hours of reality checks, etc. I wanted to have constant lucid dreams, so i started experimenting with WILD. I eventually found a pretty good method that works for me. I listen to a 2 steps from hell playlist to keep me awake but not too awake while I WILD, I then induce a tingling sensation throughout my body beginning at my feet (its hard to explain, but I have always been able to induce that sensation whenever i wanted, but my body had to be pretty relaxed...that was how I knew my body was relaxing and getting ready for sleep). Then i count 1 I will lucid dream, 2 i will lucid dream, etc. If I don't go straight into one I figured that my body must still be awake, so I did some research and found that if I roll over and clear my mind while still concentrating on staying conscious, I will usually have a WILD. So there you go. I don't know why, but I have been able to get it faster than most people I guess.

It sounds like you aren't setting a proper anchor. When you are performing your WBTB/WILD make sure you are awake enough to stay awake and not fall asleep instantly. You need to be able to concentrate enough to stay awake. When attempting to WBTB try staying up for a bit longer instead of getting water and going back to bed, sit in bed and do math problems in your head for 10-15 minutes or visualize a dream sequence. Make sure to stay awake while doing these and then attempt to WBTB/WILD.

      Cheers guys!

I'll try staying up for 15 minutes next time. Oh, and I'm pretty sure the "Two steps from hell" playlist will work for me too. I love that band!

      Thanks.
