Few Week Observer, First Time Poster

      Hello everyone!

I'm really excited to improve my lucid dreaming and continue reading about the experiences of others! I've a had around 4 or 5 lucid dreams (all DILDs) that left me wanting more! How lucky am I to have essentially discovered this accidentally!

In an effort to improve my skills and learn new ones I did a search and found Dreamviews. I've been poking around here on the forums for about 2 weeks now and decided to become a member myself after seeing how reasonable and serious everyone here takes these discussions. I'm also impressed by the amount of activity we've got here!

I'm a musician/rapper/engineer and I absolutely love making and consuming music! I'd love to compose a track in my dreams and be able to wake up and make it a reality. I also like any discussions that warp the mind or otherwise force me to consider things I never have before, I especially like using weird words or playing with English so if I say something odd (in old thyme English for example) don't be alarmed!

Also, while my name is an, admittedly, immature pun on Astroglide personal lubricant have you noticed that many of them fit into LD vocab (EX: KY = K-WILD)? The concept of everyone's preferred lucid dream induction technique being their own "personal lubricant," ensuring smooth entry into the astral/dream plane also fascinated me (<it's that English thing I was talkin about).

Really looking forward to chattin with ya'll and happy dreaming! </insanity>

Thanks! Hey I noticed you have an interest in OBE's too! I have a pretty basic question about them since I'm also interested. Is an OBE essentially just a lucid dream that happens to look like real life (in the sense that objects are in their proper place, etc.) or is it actually using your dream body to traverse the real world?

I also discovered lucidity accidentally. It just happened one night, I realised that I was dreaming. Unfortunately, it's never happened since.

Have all of your subsiquent LDs been spontanious, or have you been trying to trigger them?

Hmm... well I knew about lucid dreaming during the last two, but the occurrence of lucidity wasn't pre-meditated or prepared for with any kind of techniques so I still call them accidental.

The funny thing is everytime I've tried I don't have one--just gotta keep practicing I guess!

I would have to say that it is similar to your second interpretation, although I have never had an OBE. But this link has become a very big help for me... the book is free and totally legit, I would recommend this to anyone for gaining new techniques.
