cant notice that im dreaming

so every time i dream i know im dreaming but in the dream i cant seem to notice.
like last night i had a dream i was with my friends and on of them told me to buy him some condoms. so i told him ok give me the money, as i went to the store and asked in the front counter for some condoms the clerk didn't want to give them to me. he told me i refuse to sell u the condoms because you are too young. (im 18) so then i told him u know that's illegal the refusal of selling condoms. as we kept arguing i showed the man a note that note and i noticed the note was written in Chinese but that didn't stop me to do a reality check. the point is why do i seem to go with the flow of things in my dreams instead of taking control of them? anyone ?

Well, you've been going with the flow of your dreams for 18 years now. Its hard to break an 18 year old habit. The time varies with each individual, but it always happens eventually. Although, don't get the wrong idea, you still wont have control of every single dream you have even after you've became more proficient. Control comes after lucidity. Right now you should stay focused on becoming lucid first. Figuring out which techniques work best for you.

well that's the thing i didn't try no techniques i just fell asleep and then started dreaming,ai never do RCs during the day im guessing this is why i cant recall that im dreaming
